The connectors has scratch/ cut across the cable next to the connecting port. This looks suspiciously like it was accidentally cut by a razor at some point . The plastic bag it was in was un-damaged Since it requires considerable effort to install this part (micro-soldering) I am hesitant to try. I am not confident this part wilfunction properly The seller responded promptly and resolved this problem with no questions

This charging port has solder pads that are tricky to solder. I thought I had enough heat unsoldering this port and accidentally tore some pads. This will be fun to repair now. Care is needed when doing this repair. There are a ton of connections to get this fixed.

It said I could return it, but when I went to return it, it said Id have to pay $6 to ship it back. So now I have this useless thing that i wasted $6 on.

This did not came with any instructions. I’m guessing the only people who [should] order this are those who already know what they are doing. In my case I already seen a couple of YouTube videos. This was not a simple repair, you basically will be taking apart 75% of the iPad internals and involves handling really small parts and screws. Do not attempt this if you don’t both patience AND soldering (small parts) experience. Do some research first before ordering this. On a bright note, this item did came with a small cloth which I needed to wipe down the LCD and digitizer before closing up the repaired iPad. My iPad Air is charging every time I plug it in now :-) No more frustration from messing/bending the wire to get it to charge.

Great looking product. Appears to be constructed and made well. Worked great in my fix. But... Apple is in the business of making their products easier to replace than repair. Once upon a time, I fixed broken screens, cameras and home buttons all the time. This is not a simple crack the case and swap a part fix. You have to disassemble the whole thing less the battery to get to the charge port cord. That means cracking the case, taking out about 50 tiny screws, peeling back ribbon wire that has been adhered to the case. Removing a plethora of components, undoing tiny ribbon wire clips, and finally once you make it to the right spot, you will have to do microwelding to remove and replace this part. It has to fit perfect and theres tens of points. It is not easy, you will be cursing by the time you are done, you will likely have to reweld several times and you might not even get that far, its very fragile in there. If you attempt this fix, good luck. This will do it, but its not going to be fun.
