    Comes with 2 programs (actually more) that dont talk to one another. You make and invoice and mark it paid but you have to open another program to track payments, deposits and so on. If you like qbooks you wont like having to make double entries. Seems to be they just through this together.

    difficult to use with quicken. I just wanted to print check blanks to use to print checks in the quicken program but was forced to print the blank and check at the same time.

    Dont waste your money. I bought it brand new and cant even load it - getting an error message that the license key is invalid. Tried to contact customer and tech support and got nowhere. I spent a lot of money for NOTHING. This software should be taken off the shelf and no longer sold anywhere. I think its a scam.

    Bought the Checksoft Premier package at Office Depot. I have 20+ years experience in computer software and support. Simply put - THIS SOFTWARE IS NOT RELIABLE, NOT EASY TO USE, AND HAS THE WORST HELP AND SUPPORT. Do NOT waste your money! I could not even split a check to different accounts. (the screen comes up, but theres no way to insert a additional account for splitting and absolutely no help or support - not at the Help menu, the Avavquest website, or their gross excuse for tech support... I am using this as a stand-alone product on a stable Win7 workstation, no ties to any other financial app (Quickbooks, Quicken, etc.). It should work by itself and it DOES NOT WORK. If you are a small business owner looking for an easy to use simple Invoice/Check writing system, FIND A DIFFERENT PRODUCT!

    I bought the Check soft personal deluxe which their support told me was the same as this product. If you are looking for a program that takes hours to learn to use and is full of bugs, look no further, you have found it. I have worked with all kinds of personal and business software for 25 plus years. This reminds me of a dos program that was poorly reskinned to run in windows 3.1. Here are just a few problems: 1) It runs painstakingly slow. This is really two programs, one for designing the checks and the other for the accounting. You enter your transactions into the accounting and then the other program opens and they get imported into the other program for printing, 2) The check designing program has templates that are poorly designed and almost impossible to customize. It took me hours to design a business style check that included the name of the business and the signatory and had all the routing and account numbers correctly coded and positioned. Although acceptable to the banking system, it still looked awful. 3) It purports to download data from your bank, in several formats. My bank could supply all their formats and none could be imported. I bought conversion software to change formats and it still would not recognize the usual Quicken, Quick books or MS money formats. 4) Support is by email and all responses seem to be cut and paste generic ones that solve nothing or are a referral to a forum with lots of questions and few answers. 5) You cannot print blank checks to be issued on the fly. All information must be entered when the check is created. e.g. You cannot create and print a check to the grocery store with no amount and fill it in at the grocery store. 6) If that is not enough, imagine this: One of the checks you make out every month is to a landlord that includes separate amounts for rent, electricity, heat, water, telephone,etc. and your check program allows you to split that check amount into each separate category so at the end of the year you think you can print out your annual expenses for each of those categories for taxes and other purposes. The end of the year comes and when you print out your Checksoft expenses by category report, all those checks you carefully split into different accounts when you issued them come out for the full amount under one category split. ARRRRG.

    My story: For some reason my software stopped printing. No change in my accounting software so I thought maybe a corrupted file. I go to Avanquest website to see if there is any help. Web site has someone with the same problem, but I get an error on the web site when I try to get into the answer to this persons problems. Not all of the forum answers are unavailable to me, just this one. I then, as instructed, send an email explaining problem, give my OS, error message, RAM, free harddrive space and my fathers Zodiac sign. OK the Zodiac sign is a joke-- I need a laugh right now. I get an auto response and a promise of an answer within 1 business day. At least 2 business days later I call the number in the auto response email. I sit on hold for 30+ minutes. A tech finally answers me and I learn for the first time that my software is no longer supported. I can get help from the forums or from their Yahoo or Google groups. By this time I want nothing more to do with Avanquest. I am now going out to buy another software package because I have to have it today. My bookkeeper is acting like she is going to start biting the head off bunnies if I dont do something NOW. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER AVANQUEST PRODUCT for as long as I remember how mad I am at them right now. And I have a very long memory-- right, Ford-- you remember the last car I bought from you, that 1979 mustang I bought new that barely made it to 30,000 miles.

    My Wife tried to install and uninstall 5 times. With firewalls and everything disabled, on different computer and got the same error message each time indicating a missing dll file. Tried to contact customer support (which is only by email) and was told to put the disk in the drive and hit setup.exe. I have installed literally hundreds of programs on various computers and have never seen anything like this. They may have well have charged $70 for a blank disk. This product does not work. DO NOT BUY IT.

    Quicken Compatability PROBLEM!!! Checksoft 2012 (Current) Only works with Quicken 2012 or lower. It will not work with current Quicken 2013 and Checksoft does nor make it clear that people using Quicken cannot updade to a Quicken year HIGHER than the edition of Checksoft or it will no longer connect to Quicken. Their support says thgey are working on Checksoft 2013 but still no info when it will be available and the year is 1/4 over! If I had known I would not have updated to Quicken 2013 until the Checksoft printing was updated to be compatible, since it is a big convenience when it is linked to a Quicken 2012 or below for check printing. I feel this is incomplete and therefore DISHONEST marketing by Checksoft and I hate product dishonesty!!
