I bought these because my 18-month old is becoming a real explorer and I didnt need him exploring what was in the oven. The straps were thicker and longer than I expected, which really impressed me with how strong the straps were. I pulled on the oven door handle rather strongly after I installed it, and the door wouldnt open. Im confident that my son wont be able to open the door until he figures out how to open the latch. The only word of advice I will give to buyers is to make sure you are aware of which way the strap will release. I had to throw out my first strap because I didnt install in the optimal manner. (I know the adhesive works really well, because I was not able to salvage it when I removed the pads) The strap was flapping back into the open oven door, which just isnt ideal if youre opening and closing frequently. I looked at the suggested installation method, straight up and down, and made sure the strap was attached to the door and well out of the way when open. Great item and even better value!
