My husband and I are avid gamers, especially of two-person games. I bought this game based on the reviews here and have to say Im sorry I did. The rules were easy to learn, game play was pretty straightforward, and the cards on well-made. All that said, its just a plain, dull game. The concept is an interesting variation on matching sets, and there are some opportunities to strategize a bit against the other player(s). Even with those elements, we were bored very quickly. We played more than once just to be sure we werent missing something - but it just got more boring. Maybe its a better game for 3+ players or young children, but given our experience weve been more inclined to pull out the tried-and-true games for friends -- like Carcassone, Stone Age, Race for the Galaxy, or even Kingsburg or Pirateology. For just two people, Id definitely recommend any of the above or the wonderful Balloon Cup or Carcassone The Castle over this one. For the money, Id even say go buy a deck of cards and play Rummy instead!

This is a game all generations can enjoy together. We had 3 generations playing. May be a problem for those who are color blind.

I bought Coloretto for a friend but Im totally getting a copy for myself too! Its easy to learn and nice and fast-paced. A great game to play in between longer games like Risk or Settlers.

This is a good game for friends and game nights because it doesnt require a lot of thinking or complicated strategy. I like this game because you have more control over your fate then most luck of the draw games. You can play a game in about 20 minutes. One note: this game seems insanely complicated at first, but actually its really easy. I recommend just playing a practice round to learn and youll pick it up quick.

This is a set collection game. It’s fun and fast. It is also east for travel since it is so small. It works well with two players.

Such a fun game! Not super complicated, and each game takes about 15-20 minutes so its easy to play a few times without taking your whole evening. Our set contained a golden joker but our instructions didnt say anything about that, so we treated as a standard joker until we googled it and discovered its purpose (you flip over the next card in the pile for the next player to see, which gives them an advantage - if Im remembering all of this correctly). Definitely recommend!

Coloretto is a very simple game to set up and learn. At its core its a trick taking game where you place colored cards in different piles and then push your luck by taking these piles at the right time to maximize the number of good cards you are collecting while trying to have your opponent take bad cards. These good and bad cards are determined by the the first three colors you collect (as colors beyond those three actually will count as negative points at the end of the game). What makes Coloretto so enjoyable is that its so easy to pick up and play. Theres enough strategy here for a light filler game to be engaging, but not too much that theres much analysis paralysis. so the game goes along fairly well. Coloretto is a really great intro to the whole concept of trick taking games which along with Cockroach Poker are perfect for younger players. More seasoned players may want to jump ahead to more advanced trick taking games like No Thanks!, Black Spy or Haggis, but Coloretto is a great place to start.

My teenagers and I all enjoyed this great game. It was fast to learn and has a great mix of strategy and luck. My only wish is if there was some trading element to the game. Oh and its only 5 players... a 7 or 8 player expansion would be welcome Its small and fits in a purse too..

The players draw cards from a card supply in the middle of the table. During the game, the players try to specialize in a few colors, as at the end of the game, a player can score plus points for only 3 colors; the rest score minus points. The more cards a player has of a color, the more points he scores. The player with the most points wins.
