Having used several Corel photo editing software programs, i. e. PaintShop Pro, Roxio and MS Digital Imaging, we were impressed with the specifications of Corel AfterShot Pro 3 photo editing software and placed the order. Following the instructions on the ASP 3 card, I downloaded the 64-bit Mac version (other versions are available for Windows, Lenux RPM and Debian OS systems). In addition I downloaded the detailed User Guide to my iPad Pro for ready reference. Subsequently, logged into my Corel account and added/registered the ASP 3 program. After installing the program, I viewed “getting started with ASP 3 for a faster work flow” and several other (except the beginners videos) how to videos prior to editing a couple photos needing attention. First, let me say AfterShot Pro 3 is by far the most comprehensive photo editing program I’ve used. The enhanced recovery, and blemish remover tools are a plus as is the “watermark” and camera profile feature for professional photographers and webmasters. Overall, a slick five star photo editing program, at an excellent price - recommended without reservations.

I never had a chance to use the product. When you purchase itva code is mailed to your home. Thats right mailed! Than you have to log on to the website enter the code and download your purchase. However my code didnt work. So I went into live chat with a Corel rep. Who said she could fix the problem if she can access my computer and work remotely. During the first 45 seconds she was on my desk top and clicked on my file labeled 2020 Tax Return and proceeded to open the file. At that point I stopped the remote process and vehemently complained to Corel who to date has ignored me. Untrustworthy company.

I am a longtime user. Since they bought bibble. I have recently had to re-do my computer. I have been trying to get a working serial number for almost a month. They give me a new case number and a week later, refer it back to old number. Do not even try to call them. They are off shore and VERY difficult to understand. You ask for US based rep and they have none. So you ask for an ENGLISH speaking rep and 15 minutes later you get someone that is even harder to understand. All they want you to do is upgrade. I fell for that about 8 years ago when they bought bibble. No wonder they are struggling

The AfterShot Lens Correction feature does not work with my Canon Powershot even though my camera has been on the market for years. I get severe barrel distortion with AfterShot 3. Yes, you can correct for lens distortion manually but the process is too time consuming to make it practical. So I contacted Corel Help. Their advice was to Delete my %Temp% files. Uh, try it with an Administrative user. Uh, send us your PC configuration files. Uh, Ill get back to you. After a week of working with them I got the: Oh, I guess our database does not have the calibration for your camera. Uh, you can fix it manually. Yeah, right! Im going to stay which LightRoom which corrects for Lens Distortion seamlessly.

I have been a photoshop user for years and while this is NOT a full blown replacement, it does exactly what I need it to do. Corel Aftershot Pro3 is a tool that requires a little learning curve to master, but it isnt difficult. You can load your pictures and then manually or automatically apply a number of filters. Want to fix a blemish? 2 clicks and I was able to erase some scratches in an old photo that I had scanned in. Some of the enhancements this tool does I have a hard time distinguishing from the original photo they are so subtle, but many of them really make your picture something different. My favorite feature of this is the auto watermark option to apply a watermark to all of your photos. In our digital world its important that you mark your photos to protect them and this tool makes that process so simple with a single or batch mode automatic process. Overall I really like this software and frankly it does enough of what I do in photoshop it is making me question if I need to continue with my monthly subscription to adobe since all I do is minor photo tweaks. This app works perfect for this.

Ive been using Lightroom since Version 2 to manage my photo workflow and edit photos, and Ive been pretty happy with it. But Adobes starting to push users how bought it outright to switch over to the Creative Cloud at $9.95 a month, and I wondered if Corels AfterShot Pro could replace it. At only $79.99 (or, to be honest, free, to Vine reviewers) it was certainly worth checking out. Two days ago I received a padded envelope from Amazon that contained what looked like a cardboard CD envelope. The envelope contained not a CD, but a slip of paper with a registration number. As with Adobes products, to install AfterImage you download the software and enter the code to convert a 30-day trial package into a permanent install. And as with Adobe products, you can create a Corel usr ID at installation (or after) in order to manage your Corel products.

I feel like this software is a good balance of power and simplicity. Ive been a Photoshop Elements user for quite a number of years. Ive always been put off by the way you have to import files and how editing was always a bit of a separate task from editing and cataloging. AfterShot Pro combines both really well. It lets you use your native file folder organization directly yet you can still create custom collections of shots from multiple folders. Although it has plenty of tagging and keyword capabilities, they arent quite as straightforward nor are they the main focus in this application.

I have been a serious amateur photographer for some time with more knowledge than talent. I have used Photoshop a lot but never used a work flow package other than iPhoto, so despite understanding the concepts of workflow I have not had any practical experience using any tool like Lightroom. So out of the box this was a little intimidating to use.

I’m an advanced intermediate hobbyist photographer. I take photos of special events, outdoor landscapes, pets, flowers and architecture, peppering in some product photos from time to time. I take most photos with my Nikon D3300 camera, but like so many of us, I also take a lot of photos on the fly with my iPhone too. I’ve used Corel’s photo editing software in addition to Picasa, various photo editing apps on my iPad, and have used Adobe Lightroom 4 and currently enjoy using Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 13.
