Corsair RMX White Series (2018), RM850x, 850 Watt, 80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply - White, 80 PLUS Gold (CP-9020188-NA)

I opened the box and a strong smell of burnt passive components was present. I metered it out to check and the unit was not working. It seems like I was sent a used PSU.

Soon as I plugged it in and tried to boot, POP. Smoke out of the main 24PIN ATX cable. Shouldve looked at the recent reviews, ah well. 2 HDs arent registering as of writing this, but everything else is fine otherwise. Never again. Hopefully the next few buyers will have better luck than I.

The power supply unit itself is small surprisingly and its nice to look at given the color and the compact size of it.

I ordered this to install in a recent PC build, and I could not be happier with this product. I use it with a meshify C fractal design case and was very pleased that the PSU integrated and installed seamlessly with another brand. The screws all lined up correctly and it fit inside my case like a glove. I love that the fully modular design, it helped to make cable management and extension installation very easy! I really like that if I’m not using the cable I could just leave it out. I also liked that the noise and heat levels for me personally are very low. I have 6 case fans and those are louder than anything- when the fans are off I don’t even hear the PSU fan. Temps stay about 3 degrees Celsius warmer than the rest of my computer as well. As far as Corsair Icue it is supposed to be hooked up and synced but I don’t use the software for the PSU, mostly just checking temps. Other than that a fabulous PSU, love that it comes with high quality cables that do not feel cheap either. If I didn’t want to switch out the PCI cables for colored ones I would have 100% used these; and the cables that are not exposed are still running the OEM cables. I would 100% recommend this because of the quality, functionality and price.

This is a great quality modular power supply, but its not up to the RMx Standards so be aware of that, if you want to get RMx to pick that option. There is no selective hybrid option to disable fan, but it was quiet enough though. It came with a great assortment of cables, but I wished there would be more sleeved options. It is nice that its quite efficient.

Great for your pc build that leaves you room for upgrades on gpu unless going big from the start.

Not sure about noise level, it was easy to install but only gets 1 star because after 4 hours of troubleshooting it turns out the power supply was DOA and I had to go by Best Buy to buy another one to get my computer up and running.
