Creative Mark Paint Tube Wringer Heavy Duty

It was not what I expected at all. It did not have a tight grasp. I was very disappointed. It had a short return date and and now I am stuck with a product I am not satisfied with. It did not meet my expectations at all!

For years I never bothered with these tube squeezers since I had a small wood section of a 2 x 4 that I used to flatten all my artist’s oil paint tubes. Worked great - the tubes flattened nicely as I worked the paint towards the top and then folded the flat part, but the problem was that as I squeezed paint out some worked its way back down, and after a few sessions I’d have to flatten the tube again. I didn’t know it, but I was “doing it all wrong” and basically working too hard at this task. So, fast forward to a chance ad recently for a cheaper squeezer and I looked into them and decided that I might as well spend the extra money for a quality product. Price seems high, but it’s quick and will ensure you get as much paint out of each tube as possible. Man - I love this thing! Easy to use, works very quickly, and let me tell you every last molecule of paint is worked towards the top, and with just a few turns of the handle. The ‘flattened’ area is corrugated so it’s really hard for the paint to work it’s way back down. Even then, as I recap each tube and before putting them into my paint drawer I re-insert the tube back into the squeezer and with a quick crank or two the tube is 100% ready for easy squeezing next time. Of course - make sure your cap is secure lest paint go flying out (for old paint-encrusted caps it may be a good idea to ‘squeeze’ the tube over a garbage can??). Also, no worries about over-squeezing ~ when the tube is done the handle simply stops turning. Well-made and highly recommended. You’ll love it!

I really dont take any pleasure in writing bad reviews, I put a lot of faith into product reviews. Although I did not order my item from Amazon, to be truthful I cant remember where exactly I ordered it from, Dickblick, Cheep Joes, or Artist Supply but some products are like bad equity; some poor sucker needs to buy it. My estimation is that this is the exact same product, aluminum rollers, aluminum painted frame that bends, barely holds the tube while rolling- and slips; not to mention after pulling the tube manually through the rollers while applying pressure, the pins that hold the rollers fall out. In no way is this item Heavy Duty. Dont buy plasic, dont buy aluminum, make sure the frame is steel or brass or for gods sakes bronze. Ill give it 2 stars because its worth the purchase if you lower the price enough.(groan>>> try these:

Nice and sturdy but only does 3 tubes. I can do them by hand..I need something for the bigger tubes.

My 10-year-old daughter unfailingly squeezes the toothpaste tube which drives me crazy. This great device not only pushes the toothpaste to the top, but crimps the tube so you dont need to leave the clunky device on the tube. I love the 19th century elegance of the solution. My wife, at first horrified by the price, now calculates it will save us money over the long run. She, too is under the spell of the clever and practical mechanism. Reminds me of a steam punk novel.

The tube-wringer I received is manufactured in the USA by Gill Mechanical Company in Eugene, OR. Its a well-made, sturdy product that does exactly what its supposed to do. I bought it for tubes of paint, but it works on other metal and plastic tubes as well. I recommend it highly. Don’t waste your money on cheaper wringers. This one is sturdy and really works. It crimps the tube and you can actually cut off the excess empty tubing if you want.
