> 24 hourThis is an amazing cutting machine. I struggle with cutting out shapes and this is a game changer. It will cut shapes with intricate details with ease. It is designed for paper, stickers and other thinner items.

> 24 hourI have the original explorer and still prefer to use it over the air 2. I can calibrate it so many times and still get a crappy print and cut

> 24 hourI had tried a friends Cricut machine out before ordering my own, and I wasnt sure I wanted to buy one because it seemed awfully complicated. I had to be ready to sink some time into learning the machine and the software before I really enjoyed the things it can do. I am an elementary school teacher and Im finding all kinds of uses for the machine, including cutting materials for bulletin boards, labels, t-shirts, decals, cards, etc... if you sound like me, give this machine a try. My second major Cricut project was a serving try sort of thing - you can see it in my picture. It was a gift for a nacho-loving friend and she really liked it. It takes time to learn, and patience to do, but I think this machine is cool for things like that. Thanks.

> 24 hourSo far, I think this is an okay product, You have to use their software online. It also downloads something to your computer that runs on startup which connects to the online program. I dont like programs that run on startup or that connect to an outside company. Can you say potential for hacking? It also slows down my computer when I start it. So minus one star for this. My computer is running Windows 8 and did not automatically load the drivers for the cutter. The website does tell you how to do it, however, I can see this will be a problem for the technically challenged because it requires you to access the device manager and browse for the driver. The software is fairly easy to use. I just uploaded some images, printed and cut them. They were mostly clean images that I cleaned up in another program, but cleaning the image on Cricut seems easy as well. It lets you print on your printer then cut. I dont like that there is a lot of wasted space on my paper. I dont know if I can change the margins on this, but for a cutter that will cut on 12x12 paper, it should not only cut a 9x6 area on my 8.5x11 cardstock. It does need to print a black frame around the cut area to allow the cutter to find the right lines. My printer will print with .2 inch margins or less. The first thing I cut was on 110 lb cardstock from Neenah paper. It doesnt feel heavy as light chipboard. It cut great with the regular cutter. I bought the tool set and found the spatula is useless on the cardstock, it just rips it. My fingernails worked better. The standard sticky mat holds very well, at least when new. So anything lighter may be hard to remove. I would recommend the lighter grip mat for anything thinner than cardstock. I will update as I try other papers. I bought this and 4 days later they dropped the price by $13. This really annoys me and lowers the rating by a star. Amazon no longer matches the price for products it sells. This was not sold by a third party, which I could understand, since Amazon would not have control over the deal There should be a time limit on these things, since it wasnt a sale price, just a dropped price. I totally get not matching lightening deals.

> 24 hourI was obsessed with my Cricut! It was so helpful for personalizing items and making them look neat and pretty! Unfortunately, the power button lit up red less than a month after having/using it which is something that apparently happens sometimes and means that there is nothing you can do to fix it according to the Cricut helpline. Thankfully the helpline was great and they are providing me with a replacement with no hassle. A true bummer but I look forward to having one again and hope this one lasts more than a month.

> 24 hourSadly, I have read several very bad reviews about this machine. Most of which are practically groundless. They hint at user lack of knowledge and failure to follow simple instructions. The worst ones of all are the claims that one has to pay a monthly fee to use the machine. I actually got angry when I first saw this. Obviously the people that gripe about this have failed to read the clearly defined features of the product. It emphasizes the ability to enhance your design space experience by subscribing to Cricut Access, Cricuts vast library of over 100,000 images, fonts, and make it now projects and designs. It is an OPTION! You can search and download all kinds of extra fonts and images besides the basic ones that come with the machine.

> 24 hourMy wife loves this thing and for that reason so did I. Seeing the pure joy in her eyes was rivaled only by things like our wedding day and our childrens births. As time has gone by though Im beginning to suspect that she loves it more than she loves me. She spends all her time with it and when shes not using it shes talking about it. Shes taken to snuggling it in bed and when I came home from work the other day it was sitting in my chair at the dinner table. My children call it Daddy. I was getting tired of it and tried to confront it but my dog started snarling at me. Its too late for me but youve been warned: this machine is a homewrecker.

> 24 hourSo far I love it! There are some pluses and downsides. On the plus side, because Im prime member it came rather quickly and free shipping! Ive been cutting away since I got it last week. The downside is the limitation on free access to Cricut Access for the Design Space. I got the machine on 3/30 and have Access until 4/17. The feature of one year subscription apparently doesnt apply across the board. It depends on which item you select on Amazon that day. So read carefully. If its not mentioned in exactly what you purchase, it will be brief, if at all. And it looks like it is very limited in the free images and fonts. That being said, I love the tutorials you can find all over the internet. I watch them over and over. If you are afraid of icons, (and there are plenty), the tutorials will be a great saver of frustration. I had an Expressions Cricut before. To me there is no comparison; the Explore Air 2 beats the Expression hands down! It is easier to use, there are more sources for help, although there are many icons, they are very organized in what each does. So, the learning curve isnt that bad. Im back to scrap-booking and there isnt a page I made that hasnt come from my Cricut Explore Air 2. In four days Ive made 4 pages and 2 cards. It is so much easier and fun with the Design Space and the images from Access. I was anxious to get this and got a really good deal. Be patient, the $ changes every day! I spent my savings on supplies Ive been using with my Cricut Explore Air 2 since I got it. I have more coming in. I agree with others, the extra money isnt worth what you get in a packet. If you price it out, and are patient, you can get some really good buys of supplies you intend to use or try out, instead of what you may or may not use in a packet. Im so excited, even still, as ideas keep coming to me on what I can try to do next!
