I purchased this memory as I had been advised that if you have two different memory sticks (one 4GB and one 8GB), the motherboard would use single-channel access to the RAM, so I thought Id see a huge memory speed increase by going to two sticks of 8GB (16GB total). So I was very disappointed to notice no speed increase at all after installing the two sticks of 8GB. Thinking something was wrong, I looked again and learned that the motherboard had been using dual-channel for 4GB across both sticks (8GB total) and single-channel for the remaining 4GB on the second stick - so this is why I hadnt noticed a huge speed increase...... Of course, this is my own fault - but I am happy to have 16GB now - and if I go application heavy in the future then Ill appreciate having dual-channel across 16GB! Product arrived on-time, and in good shape.
