This particular design of whiskey glass is used universally. The shape of these glasses direct aromas toward the rim, so one gets the aroma and the taste at the same moment.

These are my favorite scotch glasses. They enhance the experience when I share with them with friends. Always a conversation piece plus the scotch just taste better in these glasses.

I have about 3 Glencairn glasses from Crate & Barrel. They have a substantial, well-defined etching on the bottom that displays The Glencairn Glass. These ones are different - the text etched on the bottom is more like a cursive, and is less well defined. The letters are also thinner, and seem like the the etching is less well defined. This makes me believe that these are lower quality, and / or possibly fake Glencairn glasses. The shape of the glasses is the same, and I cant tell that there are really any other differences, but it makes me suspicious of the glass quality. Unfortunately, I was giving these as gifts, and didnt have any time to get Crate & Barrel ones at that point. If I had to do it again, Id probably just go with the C&B glasses that I know are genuine and high quality. I suppose theres a chance that these still are fine, but when youre buying these glasses, the details matter, so Id prefer to pay a bit more to make sure those details are right, and the glasses are genuine. If this does not matter to you, then functionally, Im sure theyre the same. I cannot speak to comparative longevity or durability yet, but will amend my comment if the people who received these from me run into any issues down the line.

Bought these to ude when friends come over to let them sample my bourbon. Glasses are exactly what we used at a bourbon tasting in Tennessee. They go great with the caddy I purchased to hold them.

This is pretty much THE whiskey glass. Any whiskey enthusiast knows it by name. Shaped to ensure you get a good nose, easy to hold, reasonably durable, and decently priced. It’s not a large glass - really intended for a single or double pour, neat. I’ve given and received fancier whiskey glasses as gifts, such as the Norlan glass - they are excellent also, but often start at 3-4x the price, making the Glencairn glasses a staple of whiskey drinkers everywhere.

As I have gotten older and wiser, and therefore wealthier, I have come to enjoy fine whiskey and rums. These glasses are perfect for enjoying these tasty libations. They are built to condense the fumes so you can take in the nose prior taking a sip. They feel good in the hand and are made of nice quality materials. This set of six does not come in a nice box- there is a set of two that comes in a gift box. I had those also, but they mysteriously disappeared when my 23 year old son moved away. This box of six, accidentally purchased when I tried to purchase the 2 in the gift box, is actually perfect, though. We tend to enjoy lining up different types of rum or whiskey and sampling them side by side in order to compare. If we have a guest or two, we go through all 6 glasses.

I have got this same Glencairn glasses many many times for myself and as gifts. Every time someone sees this in my bar I never fail to get a compliment. The shape, the weight, size and ergonomics is perfect! Every one who has received this as gift has said the same thing this is the best glass to nose and drink scotch from. Not to be pretentious, but a right glass makes all the difference. If you are drinking anything worth more than $50, invest in this. You wont go wrong. One of the glasses had a bubble which I was very surprised given the amazing quality I have always got. I notified the seller and they promptly refunded the cost for that glass.
