I have used Powerdvd for many years…recently purchased a new computer and had in to install. I even use this to stream movies from my computer to my TV through the HDMI connection on the computer and it is still a great quality. I have found very few formats that won’t play if you just add appropriate components. Highly recommend.

Update: We spoke too soon. I realized we never did try any 4K content with it. As soon as we did, it claimed we needed to upgrade to 22 Ultra for those features. However, this is 22 Ultra. Therefore, something is wrong with the program. We installed it using the digital download since none of the machines here have optical drives any longer. We may have to hunt down an old external option to toss onto the machine we tested this on to see if the disc install is any better.

I resisted having to buy a program but Im so glad I did. This program does so much more than just watch Blu-ray DVDs. Manage home videos, photos, play regular DVDs, use to play on your television or PC. It was easy to set up and works very well. It may seem pricey but its well worth it, especially the more you use it, the cheaper it becomes per use!

This package gives me the full version so I couldnt be happier - I have a 3 TB external drive where I have stored all my CDs and DVDs (I still have their hard format, but having them on an external drive makes it easier to watch/listen to) This was easy enough to upgrade on my computer and now I have the full version so my music and videos are easier to find/load and sound/look better. I like this particular piece of software because I already knew it well enough and nowadays, for me to learn new software...thank you, but Id rather not!

I have mixed feelings about this product, has a lot of features and probably so many that you want to use all of them but in my experience the teachers do work very well for what they do. I do use this as my primary media player and it does seem like it has increased the quality and resolution that I see in my movies and pictures so I’m happy with that. I feel that it could be a little easier as far as understanding the functionality but there are a ton of training videos at your disposal. I am using this on a medium a gaming PC with a 3060 TI video card so I should mention that as well. I do like that it comes with cloud functionality included one year which is pretty nice. overall I feel like this is a great video software that can replace a lot of the features that windows offers if you’re comfortable with the price.

Excellent software for playback of DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and pretty much any digital video file in up to 4K resolution. Actually, it says it supports 8K but I haven’t come across any 8K videos thus far. It has nice media organization software as well. A good alternative to built-in players and media software if you want more control and finer quality. Five stars.

This isn’t an easy review. The reality is that many won’t actually need what this program offers, but for those that do; it does what it does very well – depending. This will be dependent on how powerful your computer is. If your computer is reasonably powerful, this program should work just fine. As far as those who will actually benefit from this program: • This is one of the only available pieces of software for playing Blu-ray discs on PC. If you want this functionality, this program can provide it. • The ability to make personal video files look better. By personal, I mean videos that are located on your personal computer. For this, the program does work quite well. In many ways, it’s similar to the results of editing a picture. It can make the image have greater clarity and sharpness with the default settings, but you can also go in and make further adjustments or even turn on additional filters if you desire. To make sure that there is no confusion though, this isn’t AI upscaling. It’s simple filters that *can* enhance the look of certain video files. That said, there is no option to use this program to modify or “upconvert” your existing video files. This program also doesn’t convert Blu-rays or DVDs. It can play them, but it doesn’t allow you to save them into video files. • If you are familiar with Plex, this program has similar functionality for creating a visual media library – but it focuses on managing all of your local media files on your computer. It kind of works, but it doesn’t work as well as Plex does for creating a network-based media server. This doesn’t bother me really. I already use Plex for accessing all my movies and tv shows on my home network, and I really just use PowerDVD as my video player when I want to watch something on my laptop instead of the TV. It does make watching my videos more enjoyable. Overall, I personally wish this program could do more, especially for the price. In specific, I would like it to have the ability to save Blu-rays and DVDs to video files, and to have the option to apply the visual enhancements to the saved video files as well. To me, it seems like this program is unnecessarily handicapped, and this makes it overly expensive (in my personal opinion) for what it offers.

If you are looking for a media player that will play music and videos, this one will certainly do it. It can play from a flash drive, local hard drive, or DVD/Blu-ray drive. File types include FLV, mp4, and others, as well as ISO files (with a free driver download). So yes, this is really an all-in-one media player. However, I could not download any of my purchased YouTube movies to watch offline -- despite the claim that you can do so. Also note that you have to (fully) link your YouTube and CyberLink accounts to get this non-working feature to attempt to work. Also note that the 100GB of cloud storage is for 1 year only, then you will have to pay to keep it up. If youre married to CyberLink and have some cash to plunk down on a media player, you could do worse. But if youre just looking for a media player, there are a LOT of other options out there, most of which are cheaper and some of which are free.

I got this software for only one reason… after getting myself a Blu-ray disk drive, I still could not watch my movies because the format was no able to be read on the native media software. With this software, I was able to watch my movies plus it gave me access to some other file formats which I previously could not view. Did the job well, highly recommended.

The software works well and so far has played all of my Blu-ray discs thus far. This is an issue with Windows machines. However getting a working copy on both my desktop and laptop has not been without issues. I bought this software here and a copy on-line since I want it on two computers. That may sound odd, but I did not intend to order the software here but it got mixed into a larger order. The on-line copy installed and I was able to validate it and it performs as I noted above. The boxed copy however does not work. The Product key provided is coming up invalid invalid. Waiting for Cyberlink to fix the error. You wont be disappointed with the software, but go to Cyberlinks site you will be much happier.
