Daylight Wafer 1 Light Box, 9 x 12-Inch

This is a great lightbox. The brightness is adjustable, and it is light and thin - easily fits into a bag for transport. Very happy with it.

I received my Daylight wafer today, and put it to use right away. The unit is completely sealed (no access to LEDs- if this is a concern), and the drawing surface is smooth and seamless all the way to the rulers along the edge. The on/off/dimming switch is touch sensitive which *might* be a problem if one positions the switch near the drawing hand- but so far no issues for me. The unit is thin- I measured it at 7.5mm and it easily slips between the pages of a book to trace an image. It stayed cool to the touch for the duration of use and I had it on for about an hour. The bottom has 5 foam rubber dots to keep the light wafer from sliding across the table. A very nice addition to my tools!

I ordered the light box on a Friday and it would not turn on. On Saturday I returned and requested a replacement. Replacement arrived Sunday....I was amazed with the speed of this transaction and the new Wafer 1 light box works perfectly. Nice size for travel , ultra light weight, keeping it next to my sewing machine for viewing fabric placement with foundation piecing projects......xo

Im really happy with this light box, my only real complaint is that the light tends to turn on or off or change brightness while Im using it since the switch and dimmers are on the face and are touch controlled... so it is not unusual for it to turn off while Im drawing on it or to have to constantly reset the light level because my hand or arm has accidentally touched the controls. Perhaps its too thin, but this would be perfect if the controls were on the edge instead of the front. Otherwise, the size and light quality (including light evenness) are really nice!

I primarily use for tracing appliqué and reverse appliqué patterns onto my background fabric.” The brightness of the daylight light box makes it possible to see through to trace even onto medium-dark fabrics. It’s also useful for positioning fabrics for paper-piecing.. The Daylight light boxes are lightweight and thin so I can easily use them in my lap. And I love the Wafer 1’s small size because it fits in my briefcase or project bag when I travel to teach. Has a large light surface plus a rule around the edges; a great feature for quick measurements.

This light box has been perfect for helping me layout appliqué pieces for quilt blocks. The light is bright enough to go through the design piece of paper, the pressing sheet, the block background, as well as a couple of layers of appliqué pieces all at once. I love it!
