> 3 dayOh my gosh, only two books left. I loved this one also. The best part was Victor getting his. I hope this means the new bars will be shut down. And Amelia worked out how to sever the blood bond with Eric. Not happy with Sookie about a number of things but this was a page turner for me. On to the next one!

> 3 daySookie Stackhouse # 11. I really enjoy reading the Sookie Stackhouse aka True Blood stories. This book was no different from that side. I enjoyed it very much. I am glad it went to a little different tune then the others. You get to read about Alcee and woo did he make a jack ass of his self. lol he is way to fine to be doing all that. You get some smoking hot Eric yum and Bill and his love for Sookie all in one. You know it seems to me Sookie is getting more and more out spoken, which im fine with, I like that she is, being around all them vampires all the time, She has to be. You know I could say a part about every charter in Dead Reckoning, but im not going to, it could take all day. Nevertheless, everyone is there and full of all kinds of good things or maybe bad. Depends on which way you look at it. I love the way Charlaine Harris writes her stories. I have never picked up one of her books and not liked it. Im looking forward to the next Sookie book.

> 3 dayI wont write a synopsis. Others have done that. It would be a matter of dead-horse-beating. I did enjoy this book. I like the world of Bon Temps, and I like visiting once a year. I also freely admit that I fell heavily for Eric Northman the first time I read about him. So, Dead Reckoning. Is it Great Literature? No. Is it intended to be? Also no. Is it a fun read? Yes. Does it tie up some loose ends and then wave others around like banners so we have a reason to read the next book? Of course. Yes, there are some continuity problems. Other people have already beaten this drum, too. Theres no reason to beat it some more. I also didnt like the way Sookie told Bill a piece of Big Plot Point Information at one time and then, at the end of the book, she told him again just as if shed never told him before and he acted as if hed never heard The Big Plot Point Information before. It was jarring.

> 3 dayI have to admit to being a little disappointed in this book. The short story in Deaths Excellent Vacation was more exciting. Parts of it were good and interesting, but it felt more like a piece of a book than a real book. I was exactly 50% through the book before anything grabbed my interest and made me think this is why Im reading this book! At that point my interest was peaked, but I kept feeling like I wanted something more from the book. I love vampire politics and was so looking forward to that in this story, and instead it felt too flat, too straight-forward. I miss the Sophie Anne days. Perhaps part of the problem was that there was no real mystery in this book, which most of the previous Sookie books have had. Also there were large and small continuity problems, which made me wonder if Harris even remembers what she wrote at this point. What bothered me the most perhaps is that the characterization seemed so off to me. Characters were acting in ways that did not ring true to me, almost as if the author decided she needed the character to do something whether the character actually would or not. It really irritated me. The ending also felt very unresolved. Flat is really the only word I can use to describe it. I was waiting for the something big to happen, perhaps a cliff hanger as I got closer to the end, but that big thing never happened. I unfortunately feel that this book suffers from the author trying to set up too much for future books and not giving the reader enough to enjoy in this book. I will say it was better than the last book because at least we did get to see the action first hand, but the book still left me wanting after reading it, which is not a good thing. So why give it four stars after so many negative comments? It is still a Sookie Stackhouse book, and I do still love the world these books are written in. It inspires my imagination. And despite all the flaws, I could not put the book down.

> 3 dayI have read this whole series, and the mercy thompson novels, the cat & bones novels, the anita blake novels, and a myriad of others. Charlaine H. is still my fav. It is easy to understand that this is definitely the beginning of the end. Some parts do come off as hastily written and the tying up of loose ends. So, I have that out of the way. The book finally picks up steam at chapter 11. Until that chapter, it is hard to stay interested. You know, the old Sookie dont give up without a fight and dont go down with the ship attitudes. Our girl has become jaded and tired of the good fight, but she does realize that the killing though necessary is still bad so give her that. This storyline really does feel disjointed and these wonderful characters are thrown in as fillers to almost get them out of the way. *Small Spoiler* Sookie goes home to find Alcide in her bed and tells him she doesnt even LIKE him anymore. As a reader, I cannot see that behavior in Alcide, after all he is Alpha. Amelia & Bob(the once cat) are in and out of the story almost like an add-on dismissal. The reference to thenm would have been enough. Sandra Pelt the side issue is just that a side issue, along with Mr. Catiliades, Dermot, Claude you name it they are all here for the reunion. We all waited for this great affair with Eric, and unfortunately, I think this is the true way of life. Eric can offer Sookie everything, but bottom line not himself, which is what she wants. You will have to read the book to get this love story. The fight scene is great, but short, I could almost see it in my mind. I did not like that Pam seems to have developed MORE FEELING. I do think the storyline with Sookie, Eric, & Victor and the big fight is a great storyline, because that whole outcome on all of those threads could be awesome. I thought the book before this one Dead In The Family was a little lacking also; however, I think that Sookie will go on to fight other battles, give great advice, will stay in the supe world where she does belong (because she definitely has a leg in both worlds) AND WILL NOT END UP WITH SAM! I,also, do not think that she will end up with REMY REARING HUNTER (hadleys telepathic son). So, like I said, this is a reunion book tying up loose ends and preparing us for the end of this GLORIOUS SUPERNATURAL RIDE! I have faith that Charlaine H. is every ounce a professional and will end this series on a positive note and will not be influenced by us the readers or the writers of the True Blood Series. After all, she was here first!!!

> 3 dayI havent read the books or watched the show in forever and Ive figured out that I definitely misremembered this series. Specifically, I figured out that I basically like most of the characters in this series EXCEPT for Sookie. The first several books in the series are funny and Sookies quirks and naivete are endearing. She has moments of clear intelligence, and she is certainly resourceful, but by book 11, her immaturity, lack of education, lack of culture, constant doubting, and in general podunk nature are just frustrating and infuriating. I was one of those people who was super disappointed by the way the book series ended but after re-reading its clear that Sookie isnt savvy enough to be in a relationship with anyone like Bill, Eric, or Quinn. Her telepathy is obviously unbelievably useful to most of the supes in the series, but without her telepathy, I dont know what value she would bring to the table. She continues to be damaged on a very deep emotional level because of how she grew up. This makes her constantly question her self-worth and her worth as a partner in all relationships shes in. She can never make sense of her own feelings and always puts everything in a context that makes sense only to her. I doubt Ill invest time reading the last two books in the series. Its more of the same, and I know how it ends. But at least I can say that I feel better about Ms. Harriss choice to end the series the way she did. Sookies absurd decisions are perfectly in keeping with a character who ultimately never really matures or comes into her own. This review of the final book in the series really says it all https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RSEMKE1TKKSI7/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B009NY43NY

Greater than one weekI understand the criticisms about continuity of the other reviewers, but I guess I am a more casual reader of the series, and didnt really notice them. I thought this story was more of the same, and the out of character actions of Sookie and those around her seem a natural result of the extreme circumstances that they are caught up in, a kind of personal growth, though Sookie rightly questions if this growth is for the good. I appreciated the author tying up a number of the series loose ends and sub-plots with this one, and the horror aspects seemed to grow organically from the seeds planted in previous series installments. I thought the uses of Bubba and Vampire Bill particularly clever and memorable, with Bill coming off as the most likable character in the series, and I hope Sookie finds her way back to him before the series ends.

> 3 dayIm definitely on the fence with this book. I didnt love it, nor did I hate it (hate is too strong a word). It seemed to be lacking in several areas. Its been said that Harris will soon be ending the series after the next two book releases. After reading Dead Reckoning, I believe it might be time. It seems the characters weve all come to love are losing their personalities and are becoming somewhat uninteresting. Earlier in the series, I thought it would be very interesting to see Sookie and Eric get together...until I finally did. This book (really the past 2 books) have opened my eyes and I am seeing that Eric and Sookie are just not meant to be. I feel Eric has lost his spark in this book and has become...well, for lack of a better word- boring! I am really missing the old Eric. He was sharp and unintentionally humorous, and now he just seems like the shell of the vampire he used to be. What about Bill? Hes been pretty much a ghost in the past two books. Do I think Sookie should run back to Bill? Nah, not really. I think they have pretty much explored their relationship as far as its going to go. The way Dead Reckoning ended, I believe Sookie and Eric will be calling it quits soon. So, where does this leave Sookie? At this point Im not really sure. Im pretty much throwing my hands in the air because Im not sure where Harris is going to lead Sookie in the next two books. I know it seems that I am possibly being a tad over-critical about Dead Reckoning, but I really did expect more from such a beloved series. I can only hope the next book will be better. I am a devoted Sookie fan and hope for bigger and better things with the next book. Book Hollow [...]

> 3 dayIf I could Id give the book 3.5 stars. It is vastly improved over the last two, especially the last book, which is evident that book was an arc. You can tell Ms. Harris is wrapping things up - although (spoiler) - I think she could have found another way to move Eric out of the picture and I certainly thought it was kind of cruel almost to make Sookie realize she loved him by breaking the blood bond and then throwing the other monkey wrench with the Queen of Oklahoma in there. I think mainly my issue with that was that is was almost Bill-esque (my maker made me do it.) But a better read and I look forward to how she has Sookie and Sam come together. Although Remy may still be in the running, tying it up with Sam, considering how the books started, would fit. I just hope the last book lives up to the series as a whole.

> 3 dayI am not going to do a synapses of the stroyline. Charlaine Harris had me from the first Chapter of Dead until dark. I have read more books than I could count (haha as mom says). She created a world with a everyday southern girl named Sookie who had me hooked, lined and sinkered as we say in the south. The world building was mesmerizing in Bon Temps. I could see the trees with spanish moss hanging on them. Then came characters that filled the pages with such conviction and originality that I became emotionally invested in their well being. Now most might think thats an easy accomplishment for a talented writer......I tell you its not, it takes someone with a special imagination and the ability to write it into reality. She is so gifted that HBO picked up this jewel and ran with it know as true Blood to fans. Unfortunately, HBO doesnt understand that the changes they have made only weakened a wonderful story. Sookie has grown into a woman who understands the prenatural world. She has learned how to deal with evil and how to negotiate the world of nightmares and fairytales.(spoiler alert) This book had many itnconsistancies starting with Eric knowing Sookies secret and GF Niell. That she was withering??? ok and there are more that just plan made me mad because I feel like true blood storyline is getting crossed over into Sookies books and that is a bad thing. The Breaking of the Blood Bond, the Engagement to a Queen, and the way Eric just dropped out of book after the fight at Fangtasia doesnt make sense! The Eric we know would not let this go so easily. Sam is not the man for Sookie. She has known this from book 1. He is great friend material but, he just doesnt come close to being the man for Sookie. As far as the rumors of The end is near for the series I truly hope and pray they are WRONG. I dont think I would ever tire of reading about her love and adventures. The southernisms make me feel like I know her (because she talks like I do...example...I havent seen her in a month of Sundays). Please excuse my typos....I have an idea of how i would love the book to continue....Eric and Sookie BELONG together (i know team Erics vs team Bills). I love Bill too but, she cant have both ....can she? lol.....Can we have some books with Eric and Sookie keeping the prenatural world around Bon Temps a growing vibrant place for the prenatural beings to live and thrive...and of Coarse Pam has to be arount too......hope u read this Mrs Harris...I truly admire your writing, Pam Atkins
