> 24 hourCame back here to review this item two years later. It’s frustrating when things don’t last but rest assured this is the tamper you are looking for. The weight is right, the handle is comfortable in the palm, and it looks and functions the same as it did when it was brand new. The plastic tamper that came with the machine didn’t cut it at all, this one actually works. Love making my own lattes that are better than Starbucks

> 24 hourI don’t see how anyone can use those plastic tampers. This product has substance and does the job. Goes well with my DeLonghi espresso machine and frothing pitcher

> 24 hourVery well made (in Italy !) perfect size and weight, we use it daily with our Krups pump espresso machine. A surprising value too: highly recommended!

> 24 hourSolid tamper, gets the job done. Very easy to see its just a handle screwed into a piece of metal and in my opinion should be priced closer to $10, but a good product otherwise.

> 24 hourI was a little worried about buying a tamper second-hand, but when I opened it, it was in perfect condition! I could tell the box was worn but there was no sign of wear or use on the actual tamper itself. It fits my portafilter (51 mm) perfectly for my DeLonghi ECP3420 espresso machine and the tamper has a great feel and weight to it. The deep navy blue color is also a very nice touch. If youre someone who is getting into espresso and are on a budget, I would highly recommend buying some of your supplies second-hand, such as this one!

> 24 hourIf you are a coffee snob like me, you will soon realize that applying the proper amount of 32 pounds of pressure to your expresso coffee with the plastic tamper that comes with the machine is simply not adequate. In fact, mine broke in two and I nearly severed an artery in my wrist. This tamper fits absolutely perfectly with the filter. Its like it was calibrated by NASA engineers or something. I can now safely enjoy a perfect expresso that can only be obtained when applying precisely 32lbs of pressure while tamping your freshly ground expresso. Note to DeLonghi, you should seriously consider shipping this tamper with your machines.
