> 24 hourFirst: at under $7 its a good price, and being Dewalt the quality is good Im sure. However: its longer than it needs to be, somewhat negating the compactness of my DC820 its sloppy, and bits wiggle around quite a lot and (philosophically) paying a little more for a tool youre happy with is always worth it Verdict: I tried Milwaukees version, and its tighter, more compact and just better--even at twice the price (about $15) its well worth it.

> 24 hourI just bought this item and used it for some light residential framing, pairing it with my newly purchased Dewalt 1/2 impact driver (I wanted to tools in one) I thought this adapter would easily accommodate my 1/4 hex shank Dewalt impact bit set. Not the case. The longer shanks, without a lip, will not lock in place. Only the smallest tips will lock, leaving only about 3/16 of the bit exposed. Not very useful. To top it off, the locking coupler mechanism failed within 3-4 hours. I would have thought this coupler would adapt the same vendors 1/4 impact driver bits. I was wrong. Maybe I am totally naive and I am using it incorrectly. Someone correct me if that is the case.

> 24 hourHave your 1/2 impact wrench double as heavyweight 1/4 impact driver. Overkill for most situations, but for some applications it is quite handy.

> 24 hourThe retaining ring on the front was loose and prevented the collar from returning completely. So, I pried the ring out with pliers and bent it into shape. Now, the bit is seated firmly, does not slip out, and the collar is pushed securely to the face. Bought this adapter to use my impact wrench to drive timber screws. Tested and works perfect.

> 24 hourI have the Makita XWT15Z and this adapter is not compatible. The detent hole in this adapter is larger than the detent ball on the impact so the dewalt adapter easily slips off. Its a shame, because this adapter seems to be excellent quality.

> 24 hourI read some reviews saying this didnt work right... was sloppy. I havent found that the case so far but only have used this a few times. Its nice to allow multipurpose use of my impact drill.
