This product worked from the opening of the box. Simple to program it to your voice. While not flawless, it’s a real timesaver in that typing is limited to the few corrections while it’s still learning your voice. We’ll worth the price.

Works fantastic. Would highly suggest going thru the tutorials to make it most user friendly. 1 star less than 5 because i had a problem registering it and had to be on a call with tech support for a while. Took a bit but they were able to get it fixed

I have used Dragon for years, and each time the program improves. Well all end up like Kirk and Scotty, conversing with the computer. Dragons problem isnt their product, which is very good and learns as it goes, but that the firm has never really understood the concept of product support. I have never been able to properly get my user file (the data about my voice) to transfer from one version to the next, and product support is basically a chat room for other disgruntled purchasers and others sharing what they know. A real, live conversation with tech support would go a long way. BTW, if you buy Dragon, invest in a good mike. The one that comes with the program isnt good enough, and it will save you a lot of hassle as you try to build the user database that will serve you well until you upgrade versions.

Their policy about online help is brutal, and Im having terrible problems. Beware the dictation box which, in my case, means I cant write within the book Im writing, but have to write things in the dictation box then transfer them into the book. Its an absolute nightmare for editing, my #1 need. It is also currently randomly capitalizing words, and typing out commands instead of obeying them. I would have to pay $10 or $20 to get help, b/c its 3 days past the 90 days. I have looked everywhere on how to kill the dictation box but I it wont work. Also, Nuance person in the Philippines was very impatient with me, expecting me to know all sorts of commands when it was brand new to me. I know there are no alternatives on the market, but be prepared to be extraordinarily frustrated. I had to give up using it for this review, and type in pain instead, because of those frustrations. It says, Please say that again, endlessly, even though I bought a USB port to plug it in. Good luck!

This was highly recommended by several of my professors. Dont believe it. I found this program extremely difficult to use. Even after spending SEVERAL HOURS reading to its AI and typing corrections so it could better understand my word choices and speaking patterns, it continued to have problems transcribing my research papers. I had to speak in a very unnatural rhythm for it to work at all. It was also a bit intrusive - it wanted to read and write emails, work documents and almost anything else it found on my computer containing words. I had this on my school computer (running Windows 7 Pro 64) for a little under a year. In the end, I had to uninstall it to get rid of the add-ins it installed in Word and in my browser. They interfered with tools I needed for my online courses, and also added a lot of hidden gibberish to documents (these sometimes showed up in versions I saved to other formats). >> Please note that I always attempt to give each item enough time and a fair chance before I post a public review. I have enjoyed Dragon a great deal. It has fantastic voice recognition and is generally easy to use. I would only suggest Dragon make getting answers to questions easier. I am still trying to figure out negotiating the body of, for instance, E-mails. I think the instructions should lend themselves more to the Computer Dummy. Other than that I find the product excellent for dictation, etc. Yes I would recommend it to others.

The program is as expected, but Nuance needs help. I had difficulty with getting it downloaded and their support was of no help - over 5 phone calls and about 3 hours. I got people in India a couple times and they had no clue about their product or how to speak intelligible English. They also refused to connect me to some in the U.S. Unfortunately, on the calls I reached someone in this country, they were of no help either and one of them wanted me to upgrade to version 13 - when she couldnt even help me with 12! The website lost my password twice - one of which was sent to me by them. The site also once could not recognize my E-mail address. I finally figured out how to get it downloaded with the help of Google.

I am sure that people who receive emails would like to reply but dont want to take time to type it out so we let it fall into email garbage. Then again, you would like to just compose a letter to a friend or a complaint regarding a product but just dont want to take the time to type it out. I fell into these two categories even though Im a fast typist. A little over 15 years ago I purchased a word recognition software and found it to be useless as I spent more time going back and correcting errors. A majority of the time manufactures will spot their weaknesses and work to improve their product. I am super pleased in the improvement that Dragon has made in the word recognition field. It is not 100% perfect but darn close. The biggest factor in dictating is pronunciation and not slurring your words but then again it is proper to speak good English. I really like this product and I have no regrets in purchasing it. It is definitely a timesaver for me as I handle a fair amount of correspondence each week.

easy to set up, though there is still a bit of hesitation in the program it will suffice for the work I want to use it in (College term papers) these guys are by far the leaders in voice recognition and it shows in their expertise. Though I gave it a 4 star rating it really is not the proper rating as it should be a 4.5 rating. I anticipate that as time goes on this will learn my speech patterns better and it will be one of the best tools I have for my education, and writing e-mails, and other things. Overall a great system.

They were great at helping resolving issues and Nuance was fantastic at assisting me to get started. I have an older computer and the disk was too small for the CD slot. As a result, it couldnt read the data and upload to my computer. Nuance walked me through several steps to check to see if it was something on my end - besides the size of the disk - and then, sent me a downloadable copy of the program to circumvent the issue. I am thrilled with the program and my Dragons name is Duke.
