I have a new smartphone and it has a new charging port. My car was not equipped. Dilemma solved, had to buy another kind of vehicle charger for my commutes. It works great and was very affordable.

this charger works very fast. it did pop out of the socket sometimes but that wasn’t a major issue for me. it lasted me almost 2 years before it quit on me. it would show that it was charging but wouldn’t actually charge. 2 years for 9.99 isn’t a bad deal.
