DualShock 4 Wireless Controller for PlayStation 4 - Jet Black

We just bought this controller a few months ago and it is working well so far, the last controller we bought that looks exactly like this one only lasted a year before it started to do odd things. We are hoping the other one was a faulty one as we have never had issues with controllers before but we will see how it goes. If the controller messes up I will update my review.

The controller has to be synced to the PS4 for it to function properly and charge. I wrote negative review blaming the product because I didn’t know it needed to synced. The product is great!

First things first, ignore the packaging dust, those little shards of paper that you might see in these pictures. So, if youre looking for a controller to be exactly like the one that came with your PlayStation, you probably wont find that because the ones they send with PS4s PS5s are going to have a slightly different finish than replacement controllers I think. Next thing is that I did some research before buying a replacement PS4 controller and found that there are some sold on eBay that are not authentic even though they look authentic and they look like they are packaged very professionally but here are some things to look out for with those. The eBay controllers that claim they are Sony but are not, are going to be packaged so tightly that there will be casing around the joysticks. Sony does not do this, probably to prevent any damage before it even gets to you so they leave it solely inside the package along with the rest of the controller instead of doing that casing around the joysticks like the unauthentic eBay controllers do. Another thing to watch out for is to make sure the writing on the controller is not distorted or stretched because the false controller manufacturers dont have access to the specific font and size and other parameters that Sony uses to print on their controllers. You want to compare your old controller with your new controller. If youre old controller is broken, DO NOT THROW IT AWAY. You will need something to compare with and you might be able to get that old controller fixed now that you have the new one and then youll have an additional controller. Another thing to look for is to make sure the Sony writing on the back where the light is is not also distorted and you want to make sure that all of the plug-in areas, like EXT and the initial insert in the back where you charge the controller are nice and sturdy as well as the headphone jack. This has a matte black finish whereas the original PS4 controller that came with my PS4 had or has, a slight gloss to it. Additionally the controllers should be at least near the same weight. This controller was a tad bit lighter but not enough really to say it was a problem Its just a teeny bit lighter and not a big deal because the important things here are that it is an authentic PS4 controller that does come in authentic PS4/Sony packaging and the writing is not distorted. The joysticks will feel differently than your original PS4 controller because again, this is not the original one that came with your PS4 Its a replacement. They give you those slight added special effects with your set because they want you to feel excited and enthusiastic and ready for gaming. The replacements are just exactly that, replacements. And buying this one, I did get this one for a few dollars less, not a bunch but a few. For all you Penny Pinchers out there this is going to be a dream. I think that matters as well. I think if you buy and brand new NAME BRAND sponsored product then it should come with a charger. That’s all! Overall satisfied with the product
