Review is for Edtran Steam Deck Case Compatible With Steam Deck Gaming Console Travel Companion I looked at several cases with extra storage as compared to the original Steam Deck case. This one is just slightly longer, and slightly taller than the original Steam Deck case. In my opinion, it is not as well made as the original case, but they are very close in quality. This case will work great! Here is what I am able to put in the bottom compartment of this case: - original Steam Deck Charging brick - spare USB-C charging cable for use with a portable ROMOSS 40000 65W power bank. (good to have with the Steam Deck so you can charge on various phone chargers etc when you dont want to connect it to the Steam Deck power brick) - SANZANG USB C Hub, 10-in-1 Docking Station (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTT5TSRT) AND my Steam Deck has a case on it, and everything fits great. Case is this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BNHTHG83 Just went on a trip but had to take the original case, and its a hassle without storage for cables, charger etc. This product solves this and is not much bigger than the original case. Very happy with this purchase. Should last a good long time for your Steam Deck, and the price is reasonable for what you are getting. I think you will be pleased with this purchase.

Way better than the one that came with the Deck, having a proper storage space for the charging cable is so so nice

This is a great case for your steam deck. It offers good protection and has a stand inside to set your device at an angle. It is padded so it offers good protection for your device. Also it has a secret compartment to store your charger and cable and accessories.

Heres my gripe with most of these cases on here; they often tend to have an outer material that is fairly cheap or are too slim with no extra storage space. Want more space to add some extra accessories? this is it. Need something with a better quality, close to hard outer material? this is it. Most cases tend to take shape from the item you add inside of it, not this one... its shaped from the get go and maintains its shape without anything inside... and hey dont want to use it for your steam deck? There are opportunities to modify and cut away the inner layer to create an all purpose storage case, your choice. Highly recommend.

Edtran Steam Deck case is roughly 6” wide, 13” long which is slightly bigger than the official Steam Deck case. But unlike the official Steam Deck case, Edtran is 3 1/2” high and does not have that empty void on the bottom. Does this make a difference? Yup! With the Edtran Steam Deck carrying case, I can easily fit my Otterbox power bank (2-3/4” W x 5-7/16” L x 3/4” thick), a USB-C cable, and a pair of wired earbuds in the spacious middle compartment. There is also a meshed pouch that can hold micro SD cards. If you leave your micro SD cards inside the SD card adapters, they fit PERFECTLY in the five slots sewn into this mesh pouch. The mesh pouch itself can hold micro SD card to USB adapters it they are not too bulky. When you place the Steam Deck into this case and fold over the mesh pouch, it securely holds your items in place without the use of a zipper or locking device. Edtran provides a final Velcro strap to help secure your Steam Deck from falling out, just in case you open it upside down or accidentally tip the case while it is opened. The case is constructed well and has lots of interior padding. There are two well built zippers with large pull tabs. The strapped attached to the Edtran case has a nice feel to it. The strap has rubber like piece which has a nice grip and the proper width for your fingers. If it is too narrow, it digs into your fingers. Too wide, and you have to fold over material to hold it in your hands. Finally the case looks plain from the outside and lacks any decals, patterns, or fancy design. This can be a good feature for privacy as people around you can only guess what is stored inside. Overall Edtran made a great carrying case. This is what Valve, makers of the Steam Deck, should have included with the unit.

Theres not much to say about this. As its just a functional carrying case. With that said, it is leaps and bounds better than the one that comes with the steam deck. It will actually hold the charger inside of the case without worrying that its going to scratch the deck or fall out. If you position things properly and have the right docking station, you can store both a docking station and they steam deck charger in here while also comfortably fitting the deck itself.

This is pretty well made and the steam deck fits in it properly. The extra space is nice to have and will fit a small dock and charger. The only downside is that the hard case portion of it isnt quite as stiff as the original steam deck case. I still think it would protect pretty well but Im not sure I would want to trust it in a situation where there was going to be a lot of pressure against the top of the case. I still think its good just something to be aware of.

This case seems to be pretty well made and the steam deck fits in it well but the original case would protect it better. The corners on this case are easier to push in and it doesnt feel like the hard portion of it is quite as thick. The extra storage is really nice to have though so I still think its a worthwhile upgrade.

This case is very well built and seems quite sturdy. The Steam Deck fits perfectly and has room for all the accessories. Very happy overall.

This case isnt bad at all, and if I needed a new Steam Deck case I wouldnt mind using it. However, any case for the Steam Deck should be compared to the one from Valve, since every Deck comes with one - so thats what Im doing here. Size - My first issue with this case is that it is noticeably bulkier than the original. You can see in the comparison photos that it is significantly taller, and the edges are much less rounded, causing it to overall feel much larger than the already large original case. Storage - The worst thing about the original case is that it completely wastes all the space under the deck. My biggest hope for this is that it would rectify that design choice, and it did! Theres enough storage space under the deck for the charger, a pair of headphones, a power brick, etc. This is great when you dont want to carry something extra around with your Deck. Quality - While this case doesnt feel like its a particularly low quality, the materials dont feel quite as premium as the original. You can see in the last picture where I am pressing with the same amount of force on both cases, this one indents quite a lot, while the original stays firm/solid. This makes me concerned for the long term durability of the case, and contributes to its overall lower quality feel. TLDR: If I needed a new case this one would be a contender, but between the original and this one, Id just stick to the OG.
