Had ordered this item but received glass Salt & Peeper shakers instead. So, I contacted Amazon for an exchange and got the real deal the second time. Only took 2 days. Im very happy with the product, the handle makes it easier to pull the pin when switching out items to be pulled, including a 600 lb. roller. I highly recommend this product.

Bought this to use with my garden tractor and garden utility trailer. I got tired of trying to fish in the original tiny that came with the trailer, then try to insert the retaining clip while on my hands and knees in the dirt. After several trips to the local tractor supply stores I found the style of pin I wanted (like this one with a handle) but ones with the proper pin diameter all had shafts that were way too long and when inserted into the hitch the bottom of the pin stuck down way too close to the ground for comfort. Cutting the pin shorter didnt help because I couldnt drill a hole in the round pin stock for the retaining clip. And without the retaining clip, the shortened hitch pin would bounce out and Id lose my trailer. This hitch pin is just the right length for the application. It has a black coated pin shaft, so we shall see how well the finish holds up over time. I would have preferred a chromed surface, but for the dozen or so uses over the summer it wont really matter much. The one disappointment is that I had hoped that the magnet would be strong enough to hold the hitch pin in place and allow me to forego installing the retaining clip. The magnet isnt nearly as strong as I had expected, so we shall see if the retaining clip will still be necessary. But even if there were no magnet at all, Id still have bought this hitch pin for my garden tractor.

Stays in play very well, almost don’t even need the pin. The magnet is much stronger than I was expecting.

Strong magnet holds the trailer on and doesnt let go. Beats lying on the ground trying to put the pin in that little hole.

This comes under the heading I never knew I needed it, now I dont know how I got along without it! A magnetic hitch pin seems like such a simple idea, I wish I had thought of it. My only concern was that it would bounce out as I ride the mower. I have some rough terrain and I tend not to let up, but it has held on fine. It comes with a cotter pin, but I havent used it. That would ensure that it didnt bounce out, but it would defeat the purpose of a magnetic hitch pin. Using it on my 5yr old Cub Cadet 1500 - 50 inch.

Excellent product. No more leaning over to find the hole for a clovis pin to secure. Magnet is strong and will not let hitch pin fall out. HIGHLY recommend.
