I am having a blast learning how to pay my keyboard with this software. You can see your progress and that makes me want to practice more and set goals. I wish I had this software years ago.

I havent seen the full benefit of what is advertised. You have to have midi and other things in order to get full use of product.

Whilst the clever people at Dummies (something of a contradiction!) have provided us with hundreds of books, their software library has always been limited. What youll find in many instances is that their software can operate on numerous levels; as a standalone product, to be combined with printed material, or to offer an alternative experience from a text book.

Yes ,if you are an absolute beginner , like me , then this will be a great course for you , because it works best for people who have no musical experience , which I suppose is the point of it all anyway. This course will be much cheaper than actual piano lessons - you can play the parts over and over again. Theres constant feedback for where youre going right or wrong , and there are plenty of lessons to have a go at , so why not give it a try?

For Christmas, I bought this to go along with the electronic keyboard we have. It was the smart move to do. Its very informative and it makes learning the keyboard seem like a breeze, not to mention a blast. The videos are a major plus and the program is very user friednly. It even includes showing guitar chords so anyone who plays guitar can play along. I have other titles by the For Dummies series (including Guitar for Dummies), so I knew I couldnt go wrong getting this one. The whole family is pleased with this one.

I never learned to play the piano but that wasnt the books fault.

I really wanted a good refresher course, as I stopped piano practise several years ago, and I dont feel that this product fits the biscuit. Although I must say that this is a perennial problem with beginners courses, as so much is simplistic. A major dilemma has been not having my computer in the same room as my piano, which has somehow defeated the object.

eMedia Piano For Dummies provides beginner piano lessons with a fun attitude and at a great price. Learn how to play piano at your own pace with techniques demonstrated using instructional videos and on screen notation with an animated keyboard. Have fun playing along with live-recorded songs or MIDI tracks that you can loop, slow down, or speed up. When using a MIDI keyboard, you can get specific feedback on note and rhythm mistakes. This course features over 150 piano lessons created by Irma Irene Justicia, M.A., who has taught at the renowned Juilliard School of Music. Popular songs include hits such as Billy Joel’s “Piano Man,” Bach’s "Minuet in G," and many more.
