It is amazing how this is teaching me how to play the piano. It is well put together and as I go through the steps I understand why I had to do the last step. I am using the MIDI, and it has really helped with my timing. I can really detect when you play to soon, late or wrong key. The only faults are there are a couple french songs but the songs helped with my timing. I only wished I purchased the Deluxe (This one and Level 2 together) instead of just this one. I was afraid I wouldnt stick with it but it makes so fun you want to get better, almost like a game.

This is a product aimed squarely at beginners: it all starts off from the very beginning, which is no bad thing, and takes things slowly so that you become competent and fluent, and it will boost confidence. Naturally, if youre after a refresher course, this is not for you.

This is great if you are about 5 years old, its just the emedia version with a piano for dummies badge, I was very disapointed, it looks old and still has bugs.

The trouble with this is that it sounds horrible. One of the best things about learning piano - as opposed to say violin - is that you can make a lovely sound almost immediately. But the simpified fingerings leave out the notes that everyone remembers in say mary had a little lamb so that the tune jars on unfamilar notes and the tinny electroonic piano sounds are just horrid. I got this to suppplement learning with the suzuki method (which is wonderful) and this was so depressing by comparison. I see it could be useful as a reminder on all the technical details but the audio lets it down. AND you need a midi keyboard - walking away and trying it on the real piano will sound nicer but doesnt really work,...

I bought this along with my first piano. After only 5 days of playing, I am confidently reading simple music staffs and a I am already playing with the left hand accompaniment.

Piano for Dummies is an interesting way to get into learning the piano. It contains a single CD ROM that will play in both a PC and Mac. The Mac installation was very easy and was ready in a couple of minutes from installing.
