18-04-2025I kept this hide in the corner on the basking side of my corn snake enclosure. I had the hardest time making the temperatures stable and it always seemed to be too hot. The surface temp of the hide reached 93°F and ambient temp reached 86 despite my environment control center being set to 83. Once I removed the hide all temperatures normalized. This hide has a slight sheen to it which bounces light increasing temperatures in that area. So if your probe is not directly on the hide the ambient temp probe reading and the actual temp around the hide reading will be off by a lot - for this I took off a star. Otherwise it’s a very cool hide. In the photo is the night setting. You can see how the hide reflects light (amplifying temps).

> 3 dayI got this hide for my garter snakes. Its cute to see them poking out of it like theyre hatching :) Its one of many hides that they have, but they seem to like it. Its been easy to clean and there arent any places Ive seen where the snakes can get stuck.

> 3 dayGot this to provide another hiding place for one of my leopard geckos, and she spends so much time in it! Not I only is she happy with it, but it looks nice in a tank as well!
