He got it the second time and repeated the steps. After that he was interested in shaking it and hearing the plastic shapes rattle around inside. He also enjoyed the shapes as teething rings, which was fine because they are safe. His attention span with this very simple toy was not long, but when I wanted to give him some restful play time, he always came back to it. A nice quiet educational toy.
