Placed this using the directions. put some very light pressure on the screen to get the air out and it cracked instantly.

Well, I guess it’s better than breaking my camera lens, but I’ve broken two of these already. I am careful with my phone and have not dropped it, but somehow have cracked two of these covers within a few days of application.
