It seems to have adequate padding and it has good pocket storage while still keeping a slim profile. I suspect it would not be as hardy as a Case Logic type bag, if I needed it for commuting, but for my purposes its great.

You can pack the power cord and mouse several different ways using the main storage space and/or the zipper side pocket.
