Ive used these 100 micron sock for 6 years. I change sock every 5-8 days. It will filter very fine solids which are most evident immediately after vacuuming bottom gravel. My tank is a very healthy 100 gallon marine and fish tank. There is always a debate about using filter socks at all. I believe that reducing solid waste in the water column only makes sense as the decay off these materials create the toxins that plague closed aquarium environments. I highly recommend Aquatic Experts Filter Socks in the 100 Micron version. Socks last three years when thoroughly cleaned after each use and occasionally bleached.

These filter socks are very well made. The stitching is strong and the fabric is of even thickness throughout, and very durable. I have purchased other brands, but was not happy with the way the plastic top ring aligned into the holder. They were slightly wider than the hole for the sock; which meant the sock could not drop completely into the holder. And, of course, I obsessed over the particles slipping past the sock. These plastic rings for these socks Perfectly fit the holding slot for my Trigger sump. The others didnt, and they were fancy brand names, costing triple the price of these. Fantastic socks, great value.

This product is AMAZING!!! I use the filter pads in conjunction with the UV filter. I was experiencing some serious green water challenges. This is by far the best product ever. Thank you!

Great product. Really does the job of capturing everything coming down the sump. I change mine out frequently (3 to 4) days and alternate with 200 micron ones. Did my first load of dirty socks following their instructions and are in the process of airing out. Best to buy 8 or more to have plenty on hand based on bio load and in between washings.
