The filters were in a large box which was not damaged. The filters were smashed. Straighten the filters and used them with no problem.

My HVAC guy recommended this level of filter to me because the higher level filters put too much strain on the system.

Choosing the Correct Filter Size

Nominal Size vs. Actual Size

The nominal size is a shorthand number rounded to the nearest whole or half inch, normally in a larger font (ex: 16 x 16 x 1). Whereas the actual size is an exact measurement, normally in a smaller font, that depicts the filter"s precise dimensions (ex: 15.75 x 15.75 x .75). All filters have both.

Measuring Your Air Filters

If your current air filter does not have a dimension listed on the frame, use a tape measure to record the length x width x depth to find the actual size. Then round these measurements up to the nearest inch to find a corresponding nominal size, which will be easier to locate when searching online.

Why should I change my air filter?

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, as breathing dirty air can put you at risk to develop asthma, allergies, and other respiratory ailments. Plus, old filters can cause system defects which may lead to unwanted expenses via energy costs and repairs.

Will these air filters fit my system?

Most of our filters are universally compatible, and will work with virtually any furnace, air conditioner, heat pump, or HVAC system. But if you see a specific brand name like Honeywell within a product title, then it is designed for an exact model.

How do I change my air filter?

Once you find the right size, turn off your power supply and remove the cover from your intake vent. You can then take out the old filter and dispose of it safely. Finally, just insert your new filter, replace the cover, and turn the power back on.

How often should I change my air filter?

We generally recommend replacing your filter every 90 days to keep your system running efficiently and air clean. But, this is subject to change based on filter size and variable factors for pet owners, allergy-sufferers, homes with children, etc.

How many air filters do I need?

This varies for every customer depending on specific needs like those referenced in the prior answer. However, our selection includes package quantities that range from 1 to 12 filters, so no matter what your situation may be, we"ve got you covered.
