Due to recent events I have been trying to buy anything but China. When I started looking for a fires tarter I found one with a German name looked good and what ho China sourced.. Then I found Fire Fast Trekker MADE in USA. Perfect. When I got it I was very pleased. I have tried others this one is the one to buy. With other flint rods they stand alone and can break this one is supproted with a mannesium rod for shaving. Very high quality. This is the one to buy when your life depends on it. Ive always had the old rectangular style and wanted to upgrade. Wow, nice upgrade! During the shelter in place order my 5yr old and I worked on our primative fire making skills. The old style worked but I found this one and its way easier! So this ones gonna be his birthday present. Pictures are of him starting our campfire a couple weeks ago! Yep, so easy a 5yr old can do it...

This is the best ferro rod Ive ever used. Its so easy and effective that my 7 and 8 year olds each got a fire started the first time. Even my 3 year old did well with a bit of help. This isnt just for the B.O.B., the Kamper is tool for ever fire.

Works great, magnesium is soft and EZ to scrape. Ferro rod makes good spark.
