There were so many raves about this bag that I thought Id love it too, but there are some issues I had. Ill preface this by saying I have very sensitive shoulders and a previous low back injury. Im an event planner whose office is on my back, so I am ALWAYS with my 13 laptop and charger, water bottle, pens, files and more. PROS: Excellent, minimal design. Great quality canvas and zips. Leather handles are really nice to the touch and will only get better with time. I purchased the Autumn Leaf and red colors and loved the Autumn Leaf--kind of the perfect orange-y/brown. Loved all the pockets on the outside, the inside, the key fob (good if you have a carabiner on your keys to latch onto it). Its well made (FYI its made in Vietnam, so says the tag). CONS: With all my things in the bag, wearing the tote as a backpack or as a tote over the shoulder was very heavy and uncomfortable. The straps dug into my shoulders both ways. While the straps are meant to be long so you can convert it into a backpack, they are wayyy too long for a normal tote bag length. So much so that if you have all that Ive described above weighing down close to your hips (Im 56). It also takes some fiddling with the straps to make sure they are even, if you want it in backpack mode. I was doing this funny slip one arm in-slip the other arm in quickly dance. Im sure with time youll get used to finding your optimal lengths but its a bit too fussy for me. FINAL IMPRESSION: I can totally see this bag working for a travel trip for essentials like a camera, sweater, water bottle, magazine or book, wallet, keys, cell phone... in fact Im contemplating keeping it just for that. This bag performs well with a LIGHT weight. I would not recommend this as an all-day commuter bag due to the straps and strap length. But for style all around, this bags got it.

When I saw this bag, I really wanted it because: - I wanted a tote bag that had handles. - You can wear it as a backpack! - Was stylish in a minimalistic way - Was well thought out (functional) with pockets and key fob - Seems to be well constructed After 5 months of use, I do still love it. It hold everything I need for me and my kid (wallet, phone, snacks, water bottle, jacket). The handles are one of my favorite things about this bag... theyre nice to the touch and very sturdy. I have experienced no issues with color fading but it does have a few stains from setting it down on the floor. I wish I waxed it when I first bought it. If youre considering this, youre probably more interested in the little things that bug me about it: - Im 52 so, as a tote, it hangs a bit low for me. - One review said the straps do get twisted sometimes but I found this to be the case after extended use with canvas worn in. - Once canvas is worn in, the bag does lose its shape a bit. With sufficient amount of stuff in the bag, it does still stand on its own. - Wearing it as a backpack often seems to wear the canvas in more quickly. - It is a bit uncomfortable to carry if you have too much stuff in it. They do dig in a bit into the shoulder because theyre on the skinnier side. - There is a pocket on the inside that is behind the zippered pocket, making it a bit difficult to access. I wish they put them on opposite sides.

I debated whether to get this bag or the Patagonia Lightweight Travel Tote Pack and in the end the cute fox on this bag outweighed the other bag. You can change it from tote to backpack and back again in a second. So easy! With my daily work items - planner, wallet, water bottle, etc. everything fits great and there is plenty of room. I got caught in a rain storm a couple of days ago and nothing inside got wet. Last year I purchased the Sherpani Sojourn tote which also converts from a backpack to a totebag but I stopped using it because you have to hook and unhook the straps to convert it. But it has a laptop slot and so if youre looking for a bag with that feature - it was very well make. I deducted one star because if I am carrying it as a tote bag it is a little heavy. If Im walking very far or will be holding it for awhile I convert it to a backpack and that balances the weight and it is much easier. I wouldnt want to carry it all day if I were using it in the tote bag form.

I purchased this item to travel with. I typically only carry a backpack (no rolling luggage) when traveling, but like to have a smaller bag to carry things while wearing my backpack. I wanted a bag I could carry as a tote when wearing my backpack and wear as a backpack during the day when not moving between locations. This bag was perfect for our recent trip to Europe. I think its stylish enough but also rugged and I dont worry about it getting scuffed or damaged. The tote to backpack strap was long enough for me, if not offering a *perfect* fit. Which could reasonably be assumed it is not going to be perfect for every person considering the length is not adjustable (I am 56 for reference). I did not have an issue making the straps even (just pull from both sides at the same time) and did not feel like they moved too much when wearing as a backpack and walking many miles. I did not carry a heavy load in this bag, but the straps are not padded so I could see how it might be uncomfortable to carry for a long period with a large load. But it was well enough to carry beer and wine to our accommodations from a local grocery store. While I bought this bag with the intention to use for travel I carry it daily now. With my laptop and any other daily essentials. I feel bad for all my other bags collecting dust in the closet. I would buy this again and suggest it to users looking for a durable, attractive, and convertible tote to backpack.

My absolute favourite bag of all time. Im a 26 year old female and I wanted something incredibly versitile and durable, but not super casual so I could still use it for work. This Totepack fit the bill perfectly. Outside pocket for easy access to sunnies etc, inside pocket for lip balm and headphones. I love the key string feature - being able to easily find my keys within the bag and unlock my door without putting down the bag - so flawless and functional. I ended up going with the navy so it was a bit more classic and less casual so suitable for work. My second choice was the dark maroon - I might end up getting that too! I wear the bag mostly as a backpack because the straps are so comfy, even when loaded up. I switch to using the leather straps when Im close to work just so I feel a bit less kiddish, but thats just me! The backpack straps do move around a bit if you swing the bag on, so they can end up a bit uneven. But even if I dont adjust Ive had no shoulder pain or anything. Adjusting is super quick and easy too. The fabric seems durable and hard-wearing. Ive had no qualms tossing this on the floor of the pub! Honestly cant fault this bag - its slightly causal look might not be for everyone - Id recommend the navy or black if this is an issue. Im in Australia and this was worth every penny, even with the poor XR at the moment!!

Its a nice-looking bag made from tough materials. It looks and feels well-constructed. If youre looking for a simple bag without an overwhelming number of pockets - something you can just throw a couple things in and go - this is the best one I found in my research. Its also really nice being able to quickly convert it to a backpack when I need my hands for other things. Id say its definitely worth the price.

The deep red color is quite the eye catcher, I get so many people stopping me to ask about it. Everyone loves the Kanken, but this Totepack is the real show stealer from Fjallraven. The straps and handles are great quality and very comfortable, the trick convertibility will wow everyone and the key lanyard is actually attached to a ring, so you can just clip your carabiner to that if you dont want to leash your keys all the way to the bottom of the bag. The front zip pocket is great for items you dont need all the time, but need to keep separate. I keep my pill bottles in there and dont have to think twice. The inside zip pocket is great for my wallet, keeping items at the top of the bag for easy access. Theres another slip pocket that is the width of the bag inside, and is good for keeping a tablet or papers separated from everything else. All of the zippers are good quality, especially the main compartment zipper, and it allows you peace of mind not having to worry about anything falling out. The G1000 is actually very sleek and soft, you never feel like the bag is flimsy or stiff, just the right balance. Some people actually dont even realize its a Fjallraven bag because they see the G1000 logo before the Arctic Fox and think its a G1000 bag. Its subtle, but because all of the branding is minimal, its one of the first things they see. My only criticism is that the tote is pretty thin, which makes it easy to carry, but if youre going to carry anything with dimension like lunch containers, its going to bulge out and feel tight but still have room above it. Unless youre comfortable with carrying items vertically, it might be the only caveat about the bag. I would definitely order the purple if it made financial sense.

For years Ive resisted buying this tote due to the price, and for years Ive cycled through various briefcases, travel bags, messengers, backpacks, and crossbodies. Ive never found it.. I finally bit the bullet, dropped some $$, and bought this quirky Swedish hipster bag that I thought was all hype. Well, it is as close to it as Ive come to bag perfection. My requirements: Zip top Professional looking Versatile strap options Work tote to purse to weekend - all purpose Spacious without weight or bulk Organization without too many compartments to lose track of things Key lanyard Side pockets for water/umbrella AND Intuive and easy to carry There isnt much wrong with this bag. Where it lacks in organization and pockets it makes up for in size, versatility, and durability. The extra long key lanyard is perfect for going straight from bag to door or bike without detaching! One outer pocket works for cell phone and go to items; inner hidden pocket is good for a tablet (or, in my case, checkbooks and bank bag) and a small interior pocket for tissues and chapstick. The remainder is a large (dark) void so I recommend small packing cubes or pencil bags from the dollar store to stay organized. Basically, I jam all of my daily needs in this bag - from day job to night job to home, out, on the bus or on the bike (yay backpack option!). The straps are thin so it can get heavy but I plan to put a small shoulder pad on one of the straps for extra comfort. It does collect lint as others mention. What I have not found true, however, is a problem with the strap length. I am 52 and do not find them to be too long. So for nearly a Benjamin would I say its worth it? For sure. It almost lives up to the hype.

This is a very versatile purse. I love backpack purses but sometimes you just need a shoulder bag. This goes from one to the other very easily. Has lots of room and sections as well. The olive color is very nice as well.
