Fluke TLK291 Phase Rotation Fused Test Lead Set

This is a review of the Fluke TL81A Test Lead Set, Deluxe Electronic. I bought this set because it was on sale (the Amazon Prime event,) but I must say you get a lot for your money from this kit, even at the regular price. You get the following: (I wont keep repeating that you get two of each, one red and one black.) TL71, one meter-long silicone-insulated test lead with a safety-shrouded, right-angle male banana connector on one end and a stainless steel test probe on the other. 10A CAT III 1000V CAT IV 600V. Included accessories for the TL71: 1 Insulated alligator clip. Slides on the TL71 but also has threads for use with test probes like the TL175. 10A CAT II 1000V CAT III 600V. 2 Thin insulated probe tip extender (long!) with cap. 3A CAT II 300V. 3 Slide-on insulated IC probe tip adapter. 3A CAT II 300V. TL224 silicone-insulated SureGrip test lead with a safety-shrouded, right-angle male banana connector on one end and a safety-shrouded, straight male banana connector on the other. 10A CAT III 1000V CAT IV 600V Included attachments for the TL 224: 1 Modular test probe with a shrouded female banana connector in the handle. 10A CAT II 1000V CAT III 600V. 2 Modular alligator clip with shrouded female banana connector. 10A CAT II 1000V CAT III 600V. 3 Modular hook-style clip test lead with shrouded female banana connector. 5A. 4 Modular pinch-style clip test lead with shrouded female banana connector. 5A. 5 Bare spade lug with bare female banana connector. 10A. Test lead coupler with female banana connectors on both sides. In summary, you really get two different probes: A deluxe TL71 set with needle tip extenders, IC probe tip adapters (and two alligator adapters.) And you also get a starter electronics (and electrician) SureGrip set with steel tips, spade lugs, alligator clips, and hook-style and pinch-style leads. You can (as I did) add a few more SureGrip attachments and have a complete electronics and electrician set of probes. I must add that the included pouch is handy and a bargain, considering how expensive original Fluke storage options usually are.

good price and are of quallity

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my test lead set and discovered that the pouch is absolutely NOT a piece of junk as described in a couple of the other reviews. Im not sure what they were expecting, buckskin leather or alligator maybe? The pouch is just fine and suits its purpose well. Who keeps all their leads in a pouch anyway? Its not about the pouch, its about the leads -- and this is a very nice set.

Great quality test leads and the alligator clips hold tight. Works great with my Fluke multimeter.

It does what it does but I think the stock leads on my Amprobe AM-270 are of a higher quality. That said, there are times when you need alligator tips and shrouded extensions. This works well. UPDATE Perhaps I was expecting too much. Sometimes the low impedance of these probes are too important to pass up.

Just what I needed.

This is a great set to complement your Fluke multimeter. I mainly purchased this item for the clip probes, which work quite well.
