The bulb works, as it should. But there is a problem that I have. Right out of the box, the bulb looks a bit janky, a little bit used. It seems worn down, and there are dents and bends where there shouldnt be. I had to knock two stars off of this review because I am a very paranoid person. Because this bulb came out of the package looking the way it did, it was quick to spark my anxiety, due to the fear that maybe it could cause a fire. I wont be using the bulb for that reason. However, I might have just gotten a defective bulb. So I wont speak on everyone elses behalf.

My son uses these for his hermit crabs. They provide exactly 60 watts of incandescent warmth and have been keeping his pets active for several years now. The bulbs have a good life for an incandescent bulb used 12 hours every day, between 6 months and a year. Ill continue to purchase them.

We have always purchased the Fluker brand for our n Red Eared Slider Turtles. This light is a MUST for heat & light. It works perfectly. Their shells are hard & a nice color, healthy & growing. I would highly recommend Fluker Lab products, their products will help keep your pets healthy should they require heat or light. Great value. Switched from zoomed lights.

Fluker"s incandescent light bulbs provide the radiant heat (infrared light) that reptiles need. Reptiles are ectothermic and depend on their environmental temperature to regulate their core body temperature. If a reptile is not provided an appropriate environmental temperature  range (ETR), it may be predisposed to chronic infections. Because ETR"s vary from species to species, ask your pet professional or review available literature for guidance in determining the appropriate ETR for your pet.
