Such a novel and practical idea. The units are whisper-quiet yet very effective in keeping mosquitos and other bugs away from your immediate area. The blades are harmless to the touch and are long enough to be effective. It can be powered with 2 AA batteries or a USB-supplied cable for direct power.

this works great to keep flys away from food. I will use it while camping for sure. It is easy to use, simple concept, but it works. Made well.

I think Im going to like having these, but there havent been any flies around to test with. I hope they will also discourage wasps and bees because soon they will be flying around my back deck. Whenever I see a device with a USB Type C port, I always check if power coming from a USB C power source works. As is so often the case, the answer is NO: the power source has to be USB A. Also, my USB A to C cables fit loosely in every fans USB C port. The USB A to C cables that came with the fans had firm connections but I wanted a longer run than the provided 19 cable. Or shorter, depending on which power bank(s) I was using. Okay, dont try to push the blades ALL the way down the connection spike coming from the base. There is supposed to be a little gap, but I wasnt confident I was getting the blades to the right place until Id finished the second one. The gap is a little smaller than the thickness of a dime. The fans rotate faster than I expected: enough for a tiny breeze. On a hot day Ill take any and all breeze I can get! Although it looks like the blades are going fast enough that everyone should avoid them, the blades stop with a soft bump if blocked. The blades spin faster on USB power vs battery. I wish the on/off switch on the bottom stood out, by sight and feel, more than it does. The entire bottom is black, so seeing the switch is not accomplished with a quick glance. I used a silver Sharpie to label on/off and highlight the switch. This helped, but then I noticed that the switch is not quick to find by feel either. I dont have any ideas on how I can improve that. To test battery usage, I ran a fan using a couple of rechargeable 2800mAh batteries. An average alkaline AA battery is 2850mAh. The fan was running for over 3 hours before I decided to save this review and go to bed. Add another 31 hours of running the fan and the batteries finally gave out.

Got these for our new outdoor setup. Had one last year, but these are much more substantial. They hold up to the wind, so no worries about leaving them out. Lots of good things to say here: bases are heavy enough, so you dont have to worry about them moving. The goosenecks are very tight, so you can position them just how you want. The blades are good material, no worries to the wands, but these are not thin paper wisps, either. They all run extremely quietly, so it will not disrupt conversation. The only odd thing was the USB C ports and cords: they dont actually power the fans off of USB C, nor are the cords long enough if they were. Rather, you can use rechargeable batteries and recharge via USB. A nice, if unexpected, touch. Love the quality and the variety!

I recently started using this Fly Repellent Fan and am so impressed with their performance! These fans have soundless soft blades, making them a great addition to any meal or snack time. USB or batteries can power them, and they are incredibly portable, perfect for outdoor gatherings. These fans effectively keep flies away from food and are a great alternative to harsh chemicals or sprays. I highly recommend the Fly Fans for Tables to anyone looking for a simple and effective solution to keep their food clean and free of pesky flies.

I thought that I might want something like this to be rechargeable, but then I realized that I would rather use rechargeable batteries. That way I could instantly get the fan to work when I want it to, and could recharge some AA batteries while using the fan, only to be recirculated once again - which would enable me to use these fans for long periods of time. Additionally, if I needed then quickly, taking them out of storage, they can work without me needing to charge them. With regard to the USB power supply, the port is recessed with little room for thicker connectors. This prohibits good connection for most of the cords that I have (which really are not that thick). Additionally, I do not want to use the fans having USB cords running all around the table, being susceptible to getting spilled on to, or creating an uneven surface and limiting a stable and flat area to put liquids. None the less, these are a worthwhile addition to the outdoor table to decrease the influx of flying insects landing on the food.

These little fly fans are an amazement to me, because the concept is so simple, and so easily implemented. With our large family gatherings at the farm, these come in so handy to keep flies off the food tables. Just turn them upside down and hang them above the food and drink stations and the tables and the soft blades cause just enough moving air to shoo the flies. TIP: String lengths of twine completely across the inside of your screen houses above the food tables, and hang the fly fans from the twine.

These actually freaking work. I combined my efforts a with treating my lawn for mosquitoes with a cutter lawn spray. No mosquitoes and no flies around the food being served equally an awesome Memorial Day cook out. Side note, having them also on the table for guests kept flies away from there plates (2 for a 6 ft table, one mid way each end)
