Freud 42-104: 1/2 (Dia.) Bearing Flush Trim Bit

> 24 hourUsed this to build a new countertop with an undermount sink cutout. The counter is made of two sheets of MDO plywood glued together at 1 thickness. This bit performed phenomenally for what I needed. Stopped every foot or so to cool it off with the shopvac but it cut beautifully with no chipping or signs of wear. I was nervous about cutting using the sink as a template but it worked perfectly... Hopefully it holds up for future jobs.

> 24 hourIm a novice wood worker and purchased a cheap router bit set. The cheap set came with a flush trim router bit but would only cut 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch lengths. This was pretty disappointing to me as I paid a decent price for those cheap bits. I came across 2-3 jobs that require a longer length cutting bit. Enter the Freud flush trim router bit. It cuts up to 1.5 inches flush. I quickly pulled this out and cut through my the wood that was causing me problems with the shorter bit. I then mounted this into my router and put the router into my router table. I am making a small childs rocking chair out of walnut and this bit made short work of that walnut. Im currently making use of this bit to joint the edges of the wood that Im cutting and this thing just buzzes right through the 1 inch walnut. Excellent purchase and I will probably go back to Freud for other bits as well. Highly recommended.

> 24 hourI needed a longer bit for some of the projects I was doing and this worked great. Getting the bit out of the package was a little harder than it should be and I had to find another case to store it in so I dont accidentally cut myself just trying to get it out. The bearing and cutting diameter were good on the one I received and it cut great for a long time. By the end of my project it did start to dull and I got more burning than I like. I will see if I can sharpen it.

> 24 hourWell made tool with great potential for trim work. I bout this for a special project, and it is great for the need for 1:1 trimming of wood in my project. The bearing is made accurate and I can rely on it to give me the accurate trim using a template or trimming the edge of my projects wood edge. Definite need for every router. The item I received had a different model number, 42-10425 instead of 42-104, I was informed that the item received is the same. Both numbers represent the same tool, only a change in the numbering system not the construction of the tool. It has a fair price and most of all a reliable manufacturer. Freud is a name that can be trusted and is reliable. This router bit is a great example of it.

> 24 hourThis bit has been perfect for forming 3/4” hardwood. It’s very sharp with a great bearing and I expect to use it for a long time.

> 24 hourFreud makes top quality tools, and this bit is no exception. This bit cuts very cleanly and is so sharp it makes shavings (not dust) when I cut with it. If you look in the picture you will see the shavings and the super clean and smooth cut the bit made in end grain rock maple. The bit I received cuts perfectly flush and does not have the problem that some other reviewers have reported. of the bearing and cutting edges not lining up.

> 24 hourIm giving the bit itself 5 stars. This is my first Freud bit, I wanted to start small and cheap to decide for myself whether all the hype over Freud bits is true...it is! The bearing is silky smooth, the cut is clean and burr free and the edge stay sharp, what else could you want!? As for the product description, watch out. The Amazon description claims you will get a two flute bit and a three flute bit...I figured, not a bad price for two bits. What actually arrived?...a single, two flute bit. After chatting with customer service, he agreed the description did indeed reference a two bit(pardon the pun) set, and agreed to send a replacement. The replacement, another single two flute bit...after talking again, Amazon agreed to refund $5 to my CC and allow me to keep both bits(the original and the replacement). So in the end, I got two bits for ~8, not bad, but Im not sure if theyd do the same again. So, bit quality, a resounding 5 stars, product description, 1 star, Amazon CS, 5 stars...sounds like a 4 star average to me!

> 24 hourI received one that did a 1/16th over cut so not flush but the other I bought wouldnt cut so I dealt with this one. I gave it a 3 star because it did cut well. Last freud bit I bought worked well and was as described but hey brands change I guess. If I had been doing something that required true flush like many things I do I would have destroyed something
