This kit is great! There is much more variety than its previous set. You get more chest plate and leg options, rather than two sets of five like the older box. You get all of the special weapons options, the obligatory missile launcher that unlike the older tactical box has a backpack with a reloader much like the devastator set one, as well as all combi-weapons that are available to the sergeant. They also have options such as auspex or a marine reloading his bolter. They are easier to put into fighting poses rather than the posing for a gun magazine cover static pose of the old set.

All pieces here! Was worried from when i saw other products being boxes of empty sprues, so I made sure to order from amazon itself. Hooray! The 10 marine set gives a lot to work with and the most bang for your buck as far as warhammer 40k goes. (Cant say about how they perform on the field. I just want to cut these guys up and paint em! But if you want to know, you can look up 8th edition tactical squad review online. Saw a well written review recently)

Everything is as advertised plus the instruction manual is worth keeping around for the extremely basic unit rules/info and the color guide for several Space Marine chapters.

This is my first set of miniatures, decided to try building Space Marines seeing as how I enjoy the books so much...I wanted to build Blood Angels, so I got this set when I saw a question answered saying it had two decal sheets and that one could make several different chapters...Nope! only got UltraMarines decals. So now I am at a quandary, have never wanted or really like the UMs, but might just have to start liking them by necessity. Is there somewhere where decal sheets only are for sell? So far, everything else seems OK.

Very satisfied. The new Tac-Squad is an excellent buy. Lots of options to configure the Marines and lots left over to configure other squads. Loved the Combi Weapons. Very satisfied. Price is an issue, but its Games Workshop so i`m used to that.

Good starter set and experimental set for testing out colors and shades and what not.
