Not much to say about a GFCI tester. A little less bulky than some. Solidly built. The neon lights are easy to see from all angles. The test button trips my GFCI. The big win is the price. Some dealers sell the same thing on Amazon for 3x the price. Sometimes without the test button. Every home owner and RV owner should have one in their toolbox. Maybe more than one as they seem to disappear in the night.

This one was one of the lowest cost outlet testers I could find. It doesnt have any fancy gadgets but it does what it is intended to do. I really dont think I will need another one since it seems sturdy enough. I am not an electrician so I cant comment on specs, but this is great for us DIY people.

The price is great. However, the two flat prongs are not properly aligned when the unit is viewed from the side. Consequently, the unit is very difficult, and in some cases impossible, to insert in to some outlets. The first unit I received was exchanged due to this issue and the second item still had plugs that were not properly aligned, but were better. This is clearly some manufacturing (or design) error and should be addressed. However, for such a low price, its tolerable.

I really hoped this would work as I need to know if outlets are working before an apartment inspection and the functionality read very well. I was rather disappointed when it arrived. Not only did it not work and no readings were given, but it seemed like I was ripping the outlet off the wall when trying to remove it.

Works well to ensure my electrical is working correctly in my RV when I hook up to shore power - and prior to turning on any of my major appliances. My only criticism is that it is easy to hit the GFP button, which then trips breakers which I have to reset. But at least I know that feature works as well!

Some receptacles are installed upside down which make the unit hard to use & read.

hard to read chart and orangish yellow or red light colors. i would compare with other models, to see if another might have more clear color coding and an easier to read sticker. only able to make out the color chart in bright light

This tester works great. As mentioned in a previous review, it is a little difficult to differentiate between the white and yellow markings on the label, but it isnt too difficult if you are in adequate lighting. The GFCI testing ability also is a nice addition. As a clarification, this is a normal outlet tester that can be used on non-GFCI outlets, but it also has an extra button that adds the ability to test if the GFCI trips when it is supposed to. As one who knows little about electric, this helped me when updated an outside plug with a better weatherproof box. I wanted to make sure the outlet was wired correctly since some other lines in our house arent. I also wanted to test the GFCI tripping. This tool worked great! Hope this was helpful. If you have any questions or need any clarification, feel free to leave a comment.
