Garmin 010-10644-12 Mount, Varia Radar, Seat Post

I cannot fathom why this is $28. Garmin should price these at $10. I mean after all its a piece of engineered plastic with a rubber insert and band.

Works well. If youre using this on a triathlon bike or time trial bike though, youll need to find much larger rubber bands to secure it to your seat post. Even the largest size here doesnt fit. I personally had to use zip ties or larger rubber bands from another device.

Somehow lost the rubber grommet on my wifes bike. Bought this to replace it and works perfectly.

If it was actually made to fit aero seatposts, it would be great. Like another reviewer mentioned, you have to find much larger bands to fit around the mount or just hope it doesnt fall off. Im constantly adjusting mine because my specialized aero seatpost is much more bladed than what this mount was designed for. I use several Garmin devices, but garmin has a bad habit of having customers beta test their equipment. It works ok because I cannot find another aero mount on the market.

Garmin Varia / Radar unit is now securely mounted to my aero seat post. I was a little nervous about using the o-rings / rubber bands to retain the unit but it is rock solid and I have zero concerns. Potential design improvement would be to add a little tether so if the rubber o-rings deteriorate over the years and fail, you dont lose your tail light / radar unit.

Doesn’t work on the aero tube! Waste of money!

My Varia radar has become an essential piece of safety equipment, and with 4 bikes I routinely ride on the road, I needed more mounts. I’ve tried seat post mounts, but with other things already mounted on the seat post, I was looking for something to mount on a seat stay. The right combination of inserts and bands can be a little tricky, but once you find the correct combination, you’ll have a sturdy place to mount your Varia radar.
