I Purchased this 830 as an upgrade from my 800 I’m so glad I did. it updates much faster it has built-in memory.

The touch screen really does make this easier to use, Im glad I sprung for the extra $100 to get the touch screen version. Arguably, easier to use = safer so use that for justification if you need to. Customization of the screens is pretty good as well although I would like still more control (probably via a phone app), but realistically, I have the info I want in pretty much the size/position I want.

I had a Garmin 500 YEARS ago, but have been using my Fenix 5X for the past 5 years due to so much multisport in my life (hiking, backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, strength, etc). Well, now Im back to being a full-time roadie, and wow, this thing is sweet! It just works. Period. Has all the info I need and seamlessly transferred all my connected devices directly from Garmin Connect - no need to re-pair everything! Also, I love the emergency alert feature. I took a minor spill a few days ago, and it sent text messages to the family members I had added as emergency contacts, as well as the EXACT location of my fall (even the correct side of the road)! Definitely worth the upgrade if you dont already have one!

This is a really nice bundle for a cyclist. However the heart rate monitor (Garmin dual) that comes with it will not connect to the Garmin connect app. You will have to use wahoo if you plan on tracking other events that are not cycling. If you want the full use of the Garmin connect app get a Garmin connect watch.

Perfect. Spend a little bit more and buy a 830. Touch screen is really worth it.
