> 3 dayThe Garmin network uses Cat 6 or 7 network cables. The cable end connectors have a partial metal sleeve around them, which connects via the ground/drain wire to the end on the other end of the cable. There is a lot of Cat 5 cable out there that will NOT work on the garmin network. But for sure, these ends, with the right cable, and you can make your own cables in custom lengths and wont have to buy the garmin cables.

> 3 dayThese are high quality OEM garmin connectors. They are designed for shielded cable. Hindsight I think I’d just order the Garmin cable but I was concerned with passing the cable through my deck. FYI you do not need a crossover cable to connect a Echomap 106SV directly to a Echomap plus 73CV. Standard T586B works fine.
