This product is an identical replacement for the original. The original and this arent made very sturdy where this piece attaches to the ball of the base units arm. I would recommend mounting this on the arms ball and then using the universal mount to attach to the back of the GPS unit when putting the GPS away instead of taking this off the ball each time. The quality of the original and this replacement isnt made for the wear and tear of snapping this on and off the base by the ball. Just use the release clip attached to the universal mount to remove it from the GPS and leave the universal mount attached to the base to save on wear and tear.
