installed this wifi plug and plugged the toddlers tv into it. covered with a large hollow child proof plastic box outlet cover for safety and to prevent access to the plug. Now the TV wont turn on when grownup turns the outlet off via phone app. Toddler no longer can turn on the TV in the middle of the night and get riled up and into a bad habit. TV is controlled by parents again. When playing lullabies on toddlers room tv its nice to remotely turn it off when she falls asleep (can see on baby monitor camera). less likely to wake her when we dont have to enter the room. This could possibly work for controlling tv or game time for slightly older kids too. parents power off the outlet and therefore device via phone app. could also be used for remotely turning on / off lights, Xmas lights, ensuring appliances like heaters turn off, etc.

They are easy to install on a SmartLife app on my iPhone and they work fine. My only complaint is that they don’t have a setting where you can have them repetitively cycle on for a period of time and then off for a period of time throughout the day. I have other smart plugs that do.

This smart plug was certainly among the the easiest smart plugs Ive used in terms of App Download, Sign Up/Setup. Took me less than five minutes including the time taken to unpack and skim through the manual to identify the app. The app itself is relatively scarce in terms of features but, lets be real here, it has everything which makes this a perfectly functional smart plug. Wish bigger companies like TPLink/Kasa woukd take a few lessons from these guys.

I bought this because my audio amp has no auto sleep function and doesnt have a dedicated off switch. (The off knob is integrated into the volume knob. So I didnt want to readjust the volume each time I turned it on.) I just use the Tuya app and manually shut it off when Im ready for bed.

I really like these plugs, I use them for lamps and my teapot and they work great most of the time. Occasionally the lights will randomly start going off and on and I have to unplug them and reset them which is a hastle. Its happened with 2 different plugs so I dont know if its something Im doing wrong or an issue with the plug or app. Other than that I love being able to program my lamps to turn on and off or to turn on the teapot from a different room.

My son kept getting scared in his room so we put these on his wall lights. Now we can remotely turn his lights off once he falls asleep and he can tell Alexa to turn them on as soon as he wakes up. Very happy with them!

So I used smartlife app and not their own app So when you pair the smart switches click on the blue plus symbol on the top right. Then click on the smartplug (wifi). it gonna ask you if you want to switch to 2.4 hz wifi, dont and just press continue. Read the prompts and it should work straight away, at least it did for me.

I have had mixed success with wemo and my 2.4GHZ based networking, but these seem to work far better with Google.

So, like many on here, I was having the same pairing issue due to my 5 GHz vs the required 2.4GHz for the device. My older devices were all set up prior to the conversion to 5GHz wi-Fi. I found a guy on YouTube with a great work around. Most routers actually broadcast in both. 2.4GHz is the default when you are farther away from your Wi-Fi. It has the ability to broadcast farther. So, take your device, plug it into an extension cord and take it outside for the set up process. Get as far away from your Wi-Fi as possible, while still being connected. Your Wi-Fi and phone should then default to 2.4GHz due to the longer range distance and allow you to set up the device. This is the only time you will have to do this. Only during set up. It worked for all four of my new plugs.

Nice cheap units, tied to Google home. They are used daily with routines and commands. One night I was in the room and noticed my lamp went out. Thought something was wrong with the lamp to discover the power output had failed. The light was on indicating it was still giving power but nothing from the outlet. I only needed 3 so thankfully I had the last as a spare and its been fine since.
