Gillette SkinGuard Mens Razor Blade Refills, 12 Count, Designed for Men with Skin Irritation

Female user here. I have struggled with shaving my legs my entire life. When I first tried these razors, I thought they were amazing. Not a super close shave, but if I can shave more often without having to wait for my razor burn to heal, that’s great. Now that I’ve purchased approximately 25-30 cartridges, however, I’m finding that the quality is all over the place. Sometimes they’re great, sometimes they give me horrible burn, with bleeding and a rough shave. I’ve come to expect this from cheaper razors, but these are $3+ a cartridge. If only 1/4 of the cartridges are good, it just isn’t worth it. Attached photo is from the day after shaving with a brand new razor.

If you are looking for a razor to shave with the grain and be super smooth, this razor is GREAT. You barely feel it. However, if you are looking for a razor to get a really smooth bbs shave, this isnt it. When shaving against the grain, the get a smooth shave you have to make several passes and in the end, I actually got far more irritation than shaving against the grain with a gillete fusion. So for sensitive skin and only shaving with the grain = Great For a close shave and shaving against the grain = Dont bother All depends on what you are looking for.

The price was right and delivery was fast.

I’ve tried about every variation of Gillette razors. The SkinGuard are my favorite so far. Feels super smooth on my skin without any irritation. Only two blades, so takes a few more passes then when using a razor that has four or five blades. However, well worth the extra pass without any irritation or tugging.

The older I get the more I care about a comfortable shave and less about smoothness. These blades are great if you want a clean, comfortable shave without the irritation. They do not come close to shave you’ll get with their proglide razors but it is definitely more comfortable and the blades seem to last for weeks!

Update: Continued to use this blade and it got better. Not sure if my skin needed to get used to it or what, but now I love them! I no longer get horrible ingrown hairs. I still get a couple but now I can actually shave! Used to be so irritated I would need to let it heal before shaving again. Original review: So my beard grows in all different directions, making it hard to shave without getting ingrown hairs. Based on reviews posted, i decided to try these expensive blades. They didnt really help. I was hoping they would even if they are super expensive. But alas, still searching for a good shave without irritation...
