I love gardening and have grown some veggies in my back yard, I found some annoying bugs like pill bugs, ants and fungus gnats etc., I did a lot research and dont feel like to use something chemical which may harm the environment and human body health, so I decided to get this food grade Diatomaceous Earth with the duster and yellow traps and they works well, the powder is extremely fine just like girls loose powder. After few time of this, I did see some dead bugs, just spray a layer on the surface of potted plant to prevent fungus gnats , stir into the soil dirt and spray it to wherever has shadow that bugs loves to hide in, or spray on the plant leaves for any kind of caterpillar. California recently has roaches problem, Ive seen roaches shown like 2 years ago, this year they gets bigger and more, sometimes I take walk in hot summer midnight and I see some roaches on the sidewalks, lawns, they gather together especially around the fallen rotten fruits from trees just outside your house and I saw some in my back yard too, after blowing the dust away I sprayed the powder into the gap between house and concrete, it did a great job killing all the bugs, I saw dead drying roached the next few days and they less shown, DE can be used in both dry and wet, I like to use it dry, Ill consider non-food grade for just insect prevention and food grade one for edible plant, so far I highly recommend this and remember wearing face mask and goggles to protect yourself when using DE.

I’d read on the Internet that I could sprinkle this indoors and then simply vacuum it up. That wasn’t true. I sprinkled it in a room that wasn’t well ventilated, and it caused a lot of harm to my breathing, red irritated eyes, and other health problems. I tried clearing it out with air purifiers that had HEPA filters, plus 3 different kinds of vacuums that all had HEPA filters, including an industrial HEPA vac and a ship vac. The particles from the diatomaceous earth were so small that a lot of them passed through the HEPA filters. I got the carpet steam cleaned three times and I also hired a disaster cleaning company to use industrial air scrubbers. I finally had to remove the carpeting in the room. Use with caution, especially in rooms that aren’t well ventilated!

I got this product to sprinkle around my windows to keep ants out. Well, after digging through the bag of super fine powder to get the applicator out, I found dust everywhere...then I read the label, which says to avoid inhaling it and use a respirator and goggles during application. I was bummed because I have pets, and everyone says food grade DE is safe for use around people and pets - but its clearly not, for this type of application. Even closing the bag spouted dust...and the zip on the bag does not close. I poured some outside, but its so fine it just blew away and didnt go into the sidewalk cracks I intended it for. I couldnt even sweep it into place. Disappointed to say the least (for my intended application)! Im giving it 4 stars because if used as anti-caking for animal feed, maybe its awesome!! But not easy for novices to apply...

I put this around the perimeter of my home inside and out! I haven’t seen any crawling bugs in a LONG TIME! I am getting ready to move to a new location and I’ll definitely be using this product to get rid of AND prevent any unwanted critters from entering my home.

Soooo this stuff isn’t an overnight fix. BUT if you leave it down for *days* in places with bugs, and make sure the bugs are going through it, those bugs will die! :) I douse my house heavy when we go on vacations or trips. it’s not as effective on carpet/rooms with tons of furniture in my opinion, because bugs like fleas can hide a little. But this stuff WILL make any issue, less of an issue. Diatomaceous earth plus other preventative measures will help you and can’t harm anything! That said- don’t breathe it, wear an N95 mask when handling. Get a SHOP VAC with a filter to sweep it up! You’ll ruin regular sweepers. This stuff IS hard to clean up but in my opinion I always want a little on my floors to control any pests lol. After I shop vac, I take a wet clean mop and just get up majority of dust without stirring it up. All in all, thank God for diatomaceous earth! :) giving 4 out of 5 because it’s messyyyyyy and does take a while to work. But it WILL work when used right!

We were experiencing a massive flea infestation and our home is tiled throughout. We tried flea collars and spray but all the spray did was make us cough. We decided to add DE in a flea killing triad of DE, traps and better collars and within 2 weeks the fleas were gone. The great thing about DE is it works against other pests as well and its not toxic.

I’ve been using Diatomaceous Earth for several years around the house and in the yard. This purchase came with a thing to spread it around outside, much more convenient & efficient than using a measuring cup to spread it. I’ve found it to be very effective on large anthills outside and along the wall when we had ants inside. I mixed a tbsp or so in my cats’ food when several of them had tapeworms from fleas, put it down along the walls inside the garage, around the border of the house on the outside, under & directly on the front/back deck & porches, and in the crawl space to cut down on bugs. DE is the only pest control method I use, aside from topical/oral flea treatment on my pets, because it’s safe to use around animals and humans! When the exterminator came to do a termite inspection, he commented that was a good choice to control pests around the house, enough said for me!

Used this product to get rid of a variety of household pests. Chemicals dont work because we have children in the house. Took care of ants and spider and all of the spring time pests inside! Swear by this stuff! Also used in the past to get rid of a bed bug problem. After spending 5k with Orkin one of the call center reps at Orkin told me to give this a try and lo and behold $16 and two weeks later, I had no further bed big issues...it did what Orkin could not do for $5,000! Will always be my go to for pest control!

Every once in a while, the duster would emit a clot of powder before sending out a fog of powder. And yes, I do mean fog. A couple of puffs from the duster left a cloud over my carpet that took 15 minutes to settle. You couldnt even see it on the carpeting, but it really cut down the bugs. After a day the dog went from scratching constantly to only doing it once or twice a day. I bet if I turned the duster right side up and tapped the cover a few times to clear the nozzle I could stop the clot I mentioned. You actually turn the duster upside down to spray the powder.
