Beautifully Imperfect!
Greater than one weekI got this to apply around my apartment, for precautionary measures. The duster is much bigger than anticipated. I used something else to help apply it where I wanted it. Best thing about it, its natural and effective. HOWEVER.............be very careful when applying this. I would suggest wearing a mask when applying it, not because of smell, but because in general, breathing this in could be very harmful. Also, wash your hands, after any contact with it. Again, for safety reasons, despite it being natural and safe. This large 4 lb. bag will last me quite some time, and for the price, Im pleased that I got it.

> 3 dayGreat product! Use it in the garden and make my own supplements with a capsule filler and a little bit of citric acid. The 4lb bag at this price gives me plenty for both. The applicator/blower is garbage. Upside down does just a little bit more than nothing. Outlets on the bottom will blow 90% of it out in the first two puffs and leave you with a stopped up mess, and after just a few tries the sides of the bellow are starting to wrinkle and bind. I ended up using an 8oz squeeze bottle and thats worked out perfect for the garden application. It can be very messy working with such a large bag so recommended that you use it outside with good air flow.

> 3 dayI got this product to sprinkle around my windows to keep ants out. Well, after digging through the bag of super fine powder to get the applicator out, I found dust everywhere...then I read the label, which says to avoid inhaling it and use a respirator and goggles during application. I was bummed because I have pets, and everyone says food grade DE is safe for use around people and pets - but its clearly not, for this type of application. Even closing the bag spouted dust...and the zip on the bag does not close. I poured some outside, but its so fine it just blew away and didnt go into the sidewalk cracks I intended it for. I couldnt even sweep it into place. Disappointed to say the least (for my intended application)! Im giving it 4 stars because if used as anti-caking for animal feed, maybe its awesome!! But not easy for novices to apply...

Greater than one weekI originally purchased this to kill these little bugs we found in our house that look like brown ladybugs. After doing research we found out they are called carpet beetles and might have come after we just had new carpeting installed. Sometimes carpet beetles and bed bugs can be infested in these warehouses where the carpet is stored. Anyways, we were going on vacation and so we put it on our carpet and left for 3 days and when we came back and vacuumed it up we havent seen any since. BE SURE TO USE AN N95 MASK. I was looking at some of the reviews and noticing the health benefits. I started doing more research and found the following information. For those of you wondering, it is pronounced Die - Tah - Matous - Earth. Mix with water or your favorite drink (juice, milk, smoothie, etc). Heres the dosage that Ive been following. Week 1 — 1 TBSP (AM or PM) Weeks 2 & 3 — 2 TBSP (AM + PM) Weeks 4 & 5 — 1 TBSP (AM or PM) - always take 1hr before meals or 2hr after meals - weeks 6 and beyond, continue with 1 TBSP a day for 4 days straight, then take 3 days off Drink Option #1 I use 12 ounces of almond milk with no sweetener. Add 5 drops of stevia, Keto elevate mix, and 1 TBSP of food grade diatomaceous earth. Blend using handheld frother. Option #2 I use 12 ounces of alkaline water. Add 3/4 scoop of vanilla protein, Keto elevate mix, and 1 TBSP of food grade diatomaceous earth. Blend using handheld frother. This product is so naturally rich in silica and 28 other trace minerals. It helps to lower your cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, strengthens your hair and nails, kills worms and parasites, helps clear up your skin, decreases inflammation, and helps with joint pain. Initially, you may feel some side effects, such as headaches and flu-like symptoms. These are caused by the toxins leaving your body and the killing of parasites (this is not a cause for alarm). If these symptoms persist, however, lower your diatomaceous earth intake. This will slow the release of toxins and reduce the side effects.

> 3 dayEvery once in a while, the duster would emit a clot of powder before sending out a fog of powder. And yes, I do mean fog. A couple of puffs from the duster left a cloud over my carpet that took 15 minutes to settle. You couldnt even see it on the carpeting, but it really cut down the bugs. After a day the dog went from scratching constantly to only doing it once or twice a day. I bet if I turned the duster right side up and tapped the cover a few times to clear the nozzle I could stop the clot I mentioned. You actually turn the duster upside down to spray the powder.

22-11-2024I purchased these for use against Argentine ants. The included duster doesnt really dust so much as shoot a stream, so maybe purchase a separate duster if you just want a fine layer. If youre fine with just blasting diatomaceous earth everywhere, then youll be fine with the included duster. This stuff works well against ants. For Argentine ants in particular, use it dust around entry points. Itll cut up and dry out their exoskeletons to kill them, but ultimately it only acts as a deterrent. Ants will stop coming from where you dust and generally stay away from the dusted areas, but they will just find another entry point. This is a band-aid and not a solution. Diatomaceous earth should be used to corral the ants to places you dont mind them being, where you can deploy further baits and potentially pesticides to actually solve the problem. While useful, it should be used as a part of a more complete home infestation treatment. Sprinkle diatomaceous earth where you dont want ants, but keep it away from baits and pesticide treated places so the ants will properly find the means to eliminate themselves.
