> 3 dayDoes a great job brazing copper or dissimilar metals. Has a lower melting point that 15% Sil-Fos and flows more like soft solder. My go to for brass to copper brazing jobs. Flux as needed.

> 3 dayThis is the problem solve braze filler for joining many metals. It flows like water, almost being eutectic. And wets easily thanks to the 56% Ag. Yes, pricey but this isnt for making fillets, it is for flowing into tiny joints and acting as a solder. Been using this type and brand for 25+ years. Just cannot justify the gamble with off brands. I dont go through much, this troy ounce will last at least 10 years unless Lady Luck throws more high dollar miracle jobs in my reach. It is easy to use..joints need 5 to 10 thousandths of clearance. Use Harris flux, white for most and black for stainless. Either GTAW or oxyacetylene with just a frogs hair of reducing flame. Throw the heat on the larger of the side of the joint, then touch the filler to the smaller part. When its hot enough, it will flow like magic. The joint is a hint golden which to me is pure beauty. Very tarnish resistant except to halogen salts or sulfur compounds. Proper joints will just show a line.

> 3 dayI have used this silver solder for decades. My dad introduced it to me and he used it to butt solder the ends of metal cutting bandsaw blades made from blade stock. This is an almost unbelievably strong joint and must flex also. I have used it for many things. It is very good soldering dissimilar metals also. Brass to iron, etc, etc, etc. Thank you.

> 3 dayUsed this with propane torch on small crack in cast Iron. Clean well, apply generous amount of Stay-Silv flux, get it to a dull red heat and apply the silver solder.

> 3 dayI needed to replace a hose spigot handle for a spigot which has a round, fluted stem for the handle. Theres only one replacement for this (old style) handle, and its customer ratings are poor. I decided to make my own from a rod and a nut. I silver brazed the nut to the rod after I had drilled a hole though the nut. Then I placed the new handle on the spigot stem, and drilled through the hole in the nut, through the stem, and out the other side of the nut. A nail, pushed through the nut/stem and then bent, fastens the handle to the stem. I used less than an eighth of an inch of Harris Safety Silv (with their Sta Silv flux) to accomplish the task. I didnt know about Safety Silv until I watched YouTubes video channel The Crafsman (no letter t) episode on silver soldering (actually brazing, since it requires more heat than soldering). Is makes a very strong joint!
