It stands quite firmly (initially, I was worried about it potentially tipping over, but I no longer worry about that), and it also helps shape my headband. What I mean by that is that my previous headphone stand which had a simple bar at the top was stretching my headband out, but now the headband conforms to the shape of the stand, which is great because of the curvature of the stand.
