Herschel Little America Laptop Backpack, Navy/Tan Synthetic Leather, Classic 25.0L

I love these bags. They function well for the most part and hold up over the years. That said, I’m due for a new one, and they all seem to be out of stock. I reached out to the company to find out when they might get more of the Raven Crosshatch/Vapor Crosshatch/Tan bags in, because thats the one I really want. They told me it was a limited edition for Amazon and they won’t make it again. Kinda drives me nuts because I subscribe to their newsletter but they don’t tell me if they’re making a new bag for Amazon if Zappos. Then these gems sell out before I find them. Such a disappointment. I wish the company would bring back designs, or leave them active longer or at least do a better job getting the word out.

I am obsessed!!! I started researching what backpacks would be best for law school & Legal Eagle on YouTube recommend this backpack. Let me just say, ITS AMAZING. You just feel the good quality. The back is made of a thick material, the black straps are nicely done, the laptop sleeve is so soft so your laptop is safe from scratches & the inside is spacious. You can feel & see the quality of it!! I continue to get compliments on it. I’ve taken it on flights & it never once hurt my back, the padding on the straps make it so comfortable. It also rained today & it held up great. It didn’t feel wet at all, I didn’t know this but a friend mentioned that it was water resistant, which gives me more of a reason to love it. Don’t let the price scare you, the quality IS WORTH IT!!!!

Great backpack. A little pricy but if you can find it on sale its worth it. The laptop compartment is great, fits most laptops up to 15 but be warned that a 15 laptop is a bit of a tight squeeze when you have books and other materials inside. The fact that its essentially one big sack is a blessing and a curse. Its really convenient to have one huge pocket to take everything in and out of easily, but some additional organization would be nice. There are two side pockets within the main compartment, each large enough to fit a TI-84 calculator. The front pocket is nice for smaller items you need to reach easily but it would be nice if it was larger. I keep a zip up pencil pouch in the bag to store smaller items that I dont need often but I like to have on hand.

Ive wanted a Herschel backpack for MONTHS and I ended up getting it for my boyfriend instead (what are the chances!?). Ive done my research on Herschels website (choosing the right backpack for your needs and sizing) as well as reading many reviews over many months on Amazon.com. Finally, this past summer, my boyfriend and I went to Nordstrom to SEE it in person, try it on, etc. My boyfriend was very skeptical of it, calling it cheap material, etc.. UNTIL he tried it on. He bikes to work so this is perfect to hold his things upright and safely store his lap top as well as being stylish and professional looking at the same time. I think its a great fit and it looks good on him! However, for myself, Im still holding off on it, because Im more of a tote bag gal (we are teachers) and I do have a Herschel Market tote bag and a little Herschel wallet. I love it. I like the plain, simple designs of Herschel products and sometimes their nice bright pop of color and style. Cant go wrong. Although sometimes I spend too much time trying to justify the price. It hasnt let me down yet. Good thing about Amazon or Nordstrom is that they have great return policies! So just try it out, if its good, keep it, if not return it.

Bought one 6yrs ago and still going strong but getting another one because sibling borrowed mine. Bought 3x and have to return 3x because of bad quality... as you can see the magnets have gaps which doesnt stick well. The stitches are also bad. Ended up buying from retail store.

**Update - 2 years later** This bag ended up being a disappointment. The lack of organization pockets is a big miss. The more I used it the more I hated it. Everything ended up just loose in the main compartment. The shoulder straps didnt last either. All of the padding in the left strap has collapsed, I guess thats because I usually put the left strap on first. The right strap is almost just as collapsed. For the price it should have lasted much longer. My jansport from college lasted 4 years and is still in great shape at a fraction of the price. --Original review-- It works well for commuting, I can fit a lot in it. Wish it had a couple more pockets on the inside. There are 2 small pockets on the inside to hold a phone or something similar. Wish it had a pocket inside that could hold pens and other items. You just have the front pocket or let them be loose in the larger compartment. I like that it isnt covered with strap and and clips, its very clean looking, just wish the inside had a little more organization. Ive been using it about a week now and its very comfortable. Id recommend it, just wish it had better pocket options.

Bag is very good

I often get asked about my adventures through the wilderness while wearing my backpack. To the outside world, I appear to be a cunning survivalist capable of enduring natures harshest conditions. In reality, Im just a 22-year-old college girl who needed something sturdier after my super cute, sequin-bedazzled backpack broke under the heavy weight of knowledge. Although the backpack is somewhat large for me, I dont really mind. Im 57 and weigh about 120 pounds and the backpack is not overbearing in any way. I fit my 15 laptop in the bag along with 3 textbooks, 3 notebooks, my laptop charger, my phone charger, and a pretty large-sized clutch. The best things about this backpack, besides having everything I could possibly want in one bag, are the very padded and comfortable back and shoulder straps. It is also nice not looking like a homeless bag lady for a change. I bought the Herschel in black (in order to properly mourn the death of my multi-colored, sequin bedazzled backpack). Although the price was a bit steep for me, I think the quality of the bag is worth the cost. I expect this bag to last me for a few years, if not several. If you are considering buying this bag, you should just do it. If you dont like it, you can return it. If you do like it, you can wear it around and liken yourself to Christopher McCandless.
