I installed ceiling lights, using this was a great idea. It collected all the dust. No mess.

So Im not sure whats going on with Amazon but these seem like theyre used, the plastic is real roughed up and the label / sticker has gotten wet like it was washed. Really frustrating, I sent the first one back and got another and its the same. As far as quality it seems well made, the metal collar will stand up way better than the other brand with the red plastic collar. I want to give it 5 stars but cant due to it being the second used one Amazon sent me.

Although I liked the idea of the steel washers, it didn’t hold up as well as another dust bowl I had that lasted a long time. The bowl itself is a little small and 6” hole saws rub on the bowl.

I installed LED lights into plaster ceilings and this bowl caught everything and made the install very neat and easy!

I purchased this first and foremost because I was drilling holes in my ceiling to install new pod lights. I purchased this particular model because I thought the metal ring would prove more durable and long-lasting than any of the plastic ringed alternatives. I couldnt have been more wrong. After putting it on my drill for the very first time and drilling into my ceiling, the metal ring actually became unscrewed from itself and then leaked all the dust in the bowl all over me and my bedroom. This is exactly what I didnt want to happen. I cant believe that they put the ring on so shoddy. The ring would also not screw back on evenly as part of the plastic flange of the bull had become warped. So this made my dust Bowl literally unusable. I ended up returning the product and I purchased the plastic ringed alternative (which worked great). I highly suggest everyone stay away from this particular model and just buy the plastic ring from the get-go. Yes its a little more expensive, but its worth it.

Item worked great to install my recessed lights, no more drywall dust flying everywhere. Used it to install 8 recessed lights but by the 4th or 5th one it started buckling with very little pressure. Would recommend for quick project not for prolonged use on big projects.

As a DIY guy, but not a gadget guy I questioned myself when buying this. This is a gadget well worth the few dollars spent. I installed 10 puck lights in my drywall ceiling and saved TONS of clean up and no mad wife. Buy with confidence!
