I am writing this review as downgraded cat. 1 Hurricane Ian is blowing through my neighborhood in SC on 9/30/22. The winds are gusting about 56 MPH and the mount is holding up well. So far when Ive checked the camera footage (Ring wireless with solar panel) it hasnt been shakey. Here is a pic from the outside. I recommend this gutter mount!

I ordered this so that I could more efficiently mount a Ring stick up cam. Ive got a couple of Ring camera around the perimeter of my house, all powered by solar panels. Because of the design of the roofline of my house, theres really no good way to mount the solar panels. I end up just laying them on the roof, and a good rain or wind will blow them off. This handy bracket solves that problem for me. Even though Im not using it to hold the camera, I did try temporarily mounting both the camera and the solar panel just to see how it would work. I can report that this bracket does exactly what its intended to do, providing a solid support for a camera and a solar panel. Keep in mind that the stability of this bracket is going to depend on the gutter to which it is mounted. If you mount this far from an anchor point on a flimsy, damaged, or loose gutter, the weight of the camera and solar panel might cause movement in the wind, setting off your motion detection and resulting in false positives. Thats not the fault of the bracket, but it is something you need to consider if your gutters are in bad shape.

Used this to put up a trail cam over out back yard to watch animals and JIC security purposes, and it works very stable and seems to be rugged enough to stand up to our rough weather.

This didn’t fit well on my gutters, and I returned them for an OEM Ring branded gutter mount. They may work fine for you. They don’t seem as sturdy as the brand name product, however.

You need to tighten screw coupling with pliers (needle nose works best) especially to the “heavy” camera otherwise it will slowly droop. Otherwise it’s a great 5 star product.

This product is a little bit cheap looking and cheap feeling. The anchors are just two screws that go in that ass light angle and miss holes on the other side of the bracket for some reason. I’m not sure why those holes are there. It’s very lightweight and made a plastic it just looks and feels a little cheap. It will probably do the job though as long as you don’t get caught in a serious storm. I would probably use something to protect the gutters when you screwed down the clamping screws so they wouldn’t damage the gutter. In addition no matter how hard you twist the locks on the ends, the holders for the camera and the panel can still be moved. Likely they will hold during normal conditions. But the whole set up really just doesn’t give me a very good sense of security. I would definitely prefer a mount that was more rugged and heavy duty. At least a medium duty.

Though its not as sturdy as I expected it to be, this bracket appears to hold well, even on extremely high-wind days. Weve had it up for 3 months, and no adjustments have been needed.
