> 3 dayAs with many other reviewers, I purchased the 6160 keypads to replace old failing keypads on an old Ademco Vista home alarm system. The model number is a 4120XM, and its about 28 years old. The keypads being replaced are the Model 6137, which have a fixed English display. Unlike newer Honeywell alarm systems that require a different keypad address for each keypad, the Model 4120XM uses the default 31 non addressable code for both keypads. It took reading a lot Amazon reviews and watching many videos before coming to this conclusion. This level of effort could have been avoided had there been any instructions included with the new keypads. All that aside, the installation was very straightforward. Power down the alarm system, disconnect the backup battery in the alarm panel, remove the old keypads, install the new keypad backing plates (all the holes lined up perfectly), transfer the four wires to the new keypads (my old keypads had a plug in connector which had to be cut off and the four wires stripped to connect to the wiring block on the 6160), snap the new keypads onto the backing plates, power up the system, reconnect the backup battery, and it all worked. No additional programming required. I would like to use the Alpha descriptions for the zones, but Im not sure my old system supports that feature. I watched a whole lot more videos, but so far havent come across one that shows how to program alpha names to the zones, assuming its even possible. Again, programming instructions would have been helpful. In hindsight, for and old system like mine, I probably would have been better off buying the 6150 fixed English keypads and saved myself some money. Bottom line, however, Im very happy I could still get new keypads for my old alarm system.

> 3 dayI was a little disappointed when I opened the package. The boxes that the keypads come in from the factory look like hell. Not damaged, but looked like they had been kept in a service truck toolbox for sometime then returned. However the keypads were in is excellent shape and worked perfectly.
