My husband made me two charcuterie boards and this product completed the project. Very easy to apply. We gave them 3 coats in the beginning. After that a coat once a month seeing I use my boards almost every weekend. No weird after smell and safe for food.

Used this to refinish a butcher block island I have in the kitchen, works and looks great. It was a little tacky the first day after applying so many layers.

If you are here to check comments youve found the right one. So I didnt know I needed this. My mom recommended it when she gifted me a custom made cutting board. So I ordered this dual set. After reading how to use... I applied the thin one and let it set overnight (on an older board 1st. Lets not accidentally ruin the nice one mom bought). Nice even, thick coat. Youll understand once you start. I used my hand. Why? Because I didnt want to waste oroduct in a towl, sponge, etc. (Think mineral oil thick.) I sat it on a cardboard box overnight. Almost every bit was absorbed. Not like my hand which are now silky smooth. I wiped off the little excess and had a fully restored board. Used, washed, used, washed... added the other bottle. Now this one is nice. Its like mineral oil and wax feeling. *not ingredients, only my idea of texture* I have now restored numerous cutting boards, spoons, etc. This stuff is amazing. Its thick messy feeling isnt the greatest but I know I am rehydration my boards to extend their lives and keep them looking beautiful. **at 1st it appeared to really darken my cutting boards but, after a few days they looked like normal. I thought I over oiled them but I didnt.** Definitely a kitchen Must Have. Food grade perfection for cutting boards, blocks, wooden spoons, etc

I inserted a raw wood butcher block for my island . I didnt want to finish with stain or chemicals because i roll my dough and make bread on this wood. This is a natural product and it gave my butcher block a warm look. The only problem would be , you would have to treat your island at night so it has time to absorb the oil and rub it down good afterwards or It can leave oil on magazines or paper you might place on it. But I have had very few episodes of this because I take the time to rub the oil in. I love this product and will continue to use it. And by the way the cloth I use to wipe on my oil and wipe it off I store in a quart jar with a lid on it and I pull it out periodically to wipe down my book case, wood furniture, cabinets and all wood bowels and decorations. By using the cloth in the jar it limits the oil on wood products and reduces the chances of getting oil on papers and other items.. hope this helps. Its a good natural product. I gave it 4 stars just because of the oil that is left on surfaces if you dont rub it in good but otherwise it gets a 5 star.

I nor my parents have used oils or conditioners on kitchen utensils before. I moved out of my parents place a few years ago and have been using my boyfriends utensils, mostly plastic utensils, but some of them were bamboo (which were heavily used and poorly maintained). I recently bought new wooden spoons cause I bought some ceramic pots and pans. After researching how to care for wood utensils I bought this oil and conditioner set. My new utensils look a little nicer and water seems to slide off. The conditioner gives off the smell of honey when you have freshly put it on the wood.

This stuff is actually very easy to use and the results are spectacular. However, after it’s use, no matter how long it sits soaked into the wood, you can’t leave any papers or clothing on it. These items will absorb the oils back out of the wood and stain them. I created a folding table/ work desk in my laundry room and left some papers on this table weeks after applying this to a custom butcher block table I made. Yep, soaked up the oil and stained it. So yeah, if you ever leave anything behind on a counter that’s water soluble, it will absorb the residual oils. There is a couple products available that will give the same look and have a seal on them, but it all depends on what your using the table top or counter for.
